:stop Gunman wounds three officers, is shot dead in New Mexico

SANTA FE, New Mexico (Reuters) - A gunman opened fire on police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday and wounded three officers before he was shot and killed, the city's police department said.

Two Albuquerque police officers and one Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, according to a statement on the Albuquerque Police Department website, which did not detail their conditions.

"There are multiple scenes as the shooter fired at officers throughout the entirety of this incident," the statement said.

"There are a lot of witnesses that still need to be interviewed," the Albuquerque Police Department said. "We expect the investigation to last for an extended period of time."

Police did not return phone calls later on Saturday seeking more details, but the Albuquerque Journal interviewed witnesses who reported that before the gun battle, a man told a customer at a car wash to call police.

The man waited behind a bus stop and then fired at least 15 rifle shots at police officers before stealing a squad car, witnesses told the newspaper. He shot the deputy sheriff who tried to stop him, according to a report on Albuquerque television station KOAT.

The chase involving many police cars ended at a gas station, the station reported. The station is near the intersection where police said the gunman died after being shot.

None of the wounded officers was identified. The wounded deputy sheriff, a woman, was in serious condition, said a representative for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.

Think we will see much more of this as time goes on. All you have to do is look at what the police have turn into since 9/11. They are a fucking army.

Just look at what happened in Boston after that bombing. They shut down the entire city and acted like an actual army.

In the past it would of required the army reserves to do that. Now any larger city can do it.

Much worse is look how cops act and dress these days.. Gone are the friendly local police uniforms and additudes. Now they dress like soldiers and have a us vs them mentality.

People are getting tired of this country becoming a police state.

Here in my hometown When I left a few years ago we were starting to see a better equipped swat team.. Now they are full bore with a armored transport that looks like a tank on wheels.

Also there are now cameras at just about every intersection on any main road in the area.

People will eventually get tired of this and start acting out.

There are protest that have happened, but they just don't get covered on national news.

It's just like right now a town in cali is planning to use immanent domain to take all the houses that people are stuck in that are crazy under water because the banks wont work with the people. The town is then going to turn the houses back over to the people whom own them for fair market prices.

There is shit happening, it's just you don't hear about it..because it's bad for business..

Well you don't have to agree with everything they say or with the politics of it to agree that yes our freedom has been eroded.

The problem with modern day govt and the reason they are getting away with turning this country into a police state is because everyone is classified as right or left..

There is no longer a middle ground that people can agree on.. so its now your side vs my side and the govt just does what ever it wants and just keeps people arguing.
