She should have stood up and found herself surrounded by damned dirty apes.

Obviously. I think you totally missed my point.

I really did think she was going to have to fight for survival on land - that would have been amazing. The sequel should just carry on

Or maybe a half buried statue of liberty. :1orglaugh

Of course, all you haters are entitled your opinion, but if all that stuff about Gravity you hated was something more to your expectations -- then it would be another cookie cutter Hollywood movie that gets shit out every week. Shit that's cooked up by suits.

I'm happy to see what is basically an art film by a foreign director that's popular and well-liked by mass America. It makes it appear that maybe people want something different.

Yes, you do hear Clooney talking to Houston. Several times. When he tells his stories and they basically tell him to shut up.

When I first saw the movie I missed the first 7 minutes because we got into the threatre late. Tonight I saw it again and this time from the beginning, and you're right he talks to Huston. It was just an idea...chill.

There are plenty of movies where the plot is really nothing more than someone wanting to get home and dealing with obstacle upon obstacle. That motif is older than Homer's Odyssey.

This movie worked as an entertainment because it takes you, through genius use of 3D, right into the situation and has an almost real time experience of the events. This makes it so that 90+ minutes seems to go by like 5 minutes because you never stop feeling the anxiety of the scenario as it plays out. In that respect, it is pretty amazing.

How many movies does one see nowadays that actually result in feeling something at all?

Plus, any movie that is willing to kill off Clooney half way through has definitely not sold out to audience exit reaction polls.

Being in the minority on this is a good thing.

we went to see it on the imax in auckland. a for effort but would have rather watched without these four or five faggots behind us. they weren't gay, but they were just pricks i think they could have followed us in.

a chuckle at anyone who is negatively critiquing this movie after watching it online - yes you

If anything, this thread proves that people can have a bad reaction when they go into a movie, and they don't get the feeling or experience they were expecting to get. I love giving some of you a hard time, because it's fun -- but I'm hoping that maybe you can stop putting movies in a box that has to have four sides and a top and bottom. Some flicks are about character study, some have a conventional A to B plot, and in the case of Gravity, it's just some stuff that happens with some symbolism thrown in.

A lot of people liked this movie. It's doing well at the box office because almost everyone who goes to see it tells someone else to see it. You're not wrong to hate it because you've got your own thing about how you critique a movie -- but Gravity doesn't suck. The theater I was in applauded at the end.

In 2D on a 50 inch television it's a 2 1/2 star movie
In 3D IMAX it's a 4 star movie
