I can speak a few languages, Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Montenegrin, Bulgarian, Bosnian, English, and a little bit of Spanish(more of understand it than i can speak it).

Yahook 10-16-2013 04:41 PM

Only 4, but I hope to find a time and start learning 2 more.

adultmobile 10-16-2013 05:59 PM

If programming languages also counts, it would be many.
Otherwise just 2 human languages. And a few dialects of these.

My son is 10 and he's already fully bilingual.

Mine is 6 and speaks English, Russian & Hungarian. It's embarrassing really as I only speak 1 (unless Irish counts).

nin 10-17-2013 04:04 AM

Russian & English but its not enough

Thats why my children that are now 3 and 5 are speaking Russian and Spanish, know English, and little bit Thai.

EddyTheDog 10-17-2013 04:24 AM

No, you THINK it improves, but it actually doesn't... :1orglaugh

getreal 10-17-2013 08:41 AM

Only 3 here:
English, Polish and Russian. My conversational German faded away after I moved to US. It is funny how new language can suppress older one. Anybody experienced such thing?

bbobby86 10-17-2013 08:42 AM

i can tell only two...

Meloman 10-17-2013 08:46 AM

Fluent English & Italian and some Spanish.

Am thinking of taking an Italian class so I can finally learn to read & write it.

dezmondel 10-17-2013 09:04 AM

1. I learned Spanish in School for 6 years but I wasn't interested after the first two years. I can speak very basic stuff like tell you my name, where I'm from, ask the time, order food/drinks etc. I'm starting to learn it as I want to be fluent. Started using an app recently called Duolingo, it's pretty decent, only used it for 10 minutes but I already picked up some stuff I had forgotten.

Check it out: http://www.duolingo.com/

i speak all languages, it depends how hard i'm drunk :D

alex.missyouth 10-18-2013 06:39 AM

I'd say I have 2,5. English, Spanish and a little Portuguese. Can understand some Italian too.

diablom 10-18-2013 07:11 AM

native + english and russian. Still want to learn italian, spanish and french.

Why 10-18-2013 09:24 AM

after living in europe for years, where i met many people that claimed to speak more then one... most only speak one fluently, and the rest they are at about 50% proficiency, if that. most just get the "jist" of other languages and can barely hold a conversation.

shit my spanish blows, people would claim to know spanish, so id switch over and they were lost... i think its more about bragging then knowing, in many cases.

Why 10-18-2013 09:25 AM

just because you can order food and a cab in a language does not mean you speak it.

Jay X Industry Jobs 10-18-2013 09:29 AM

I am fluent in dutch, english and spanish.
I can communicate in german, french, papiamento, indonesian, afrikaner.
So that would be 8...
In school I sucked in languages btw. I was more interested in math.

SweetlysinxX 10-18-2013 10:23 PM

I feel your pain. I cna only speak English.

Took French in middle school , was only satisfactory. Was too much of a stoner/party head to take one in high school and middle school kinda ruined it for me.

I want to learn Spanish. Im going to make sure my kid learns spanish and korean or chinese because who knows how the world will be in the next 10-20 years...

marlboroack 10-18-2013 11:06 PM

All of them using Google.

Crazy Enough 10-19-2013 01:37 AM

Brazilian Portuguese, Latin America Spanish and American English.

I don't think I need to learn more languages. I can travel anywhere and always I'll find someone who can speak at least one of these languages.

Anyway, if I was interested in investing time to learn a new language, I would go crazy with swedish because I like the country. I like Russia too, but I think the cyrillic script is too much for me. Imagine the time to learn all that! It is like japanese for me.

Less then 1% of the chinese population speaks english.
They are making a push right now but still you will have a hard time getting anything done there!
