Mine is 6 and speaks English, Russian & Hungarian. It's embarrassing really as I only speak 1 (unless Irish counts).

nin 10-17-2013 04:04 AM

Russian & English but its not enough

Thats why my children that are now 3 and 5 are speaking Russian and Spanish, know English, and little bit Thai.

EddyTheDog 10-17-2013 04:24 AM

English and a little Spanish...

Oh, and fluent 'Drunk' as well.....

Speaking of being drunk - My Spanish improves after a few drinks - I think it is a confidence thing...

No, you THINK it improves, but it actually doesn't... :1orglaugh

getreal 10-17-2013 08:41 AM

Only 3 here:
English, Polish and Russian. My conversational German faded away after I moved to US. It is funny how new language can suppress older one. Anybody experienced such thing?

bbobby86 10-17-2013 08:42 AM

i can tell only two...

Meloman 10-17-2013 08:46 AM

Fluent English & Italian and some Spanish.

Am thinking of taking an Italian class so I can finally learn to read & write it.

dezmondel 10-17-2013 09:04 AM

in chronological order: hungarian, romanian & english

Ross 10-17-2013 11:20 AM

1. I learned Spanish in School for 6 years but I wasn't interested after the first two years. I can speak very basic stuff like tell you my name, where I'm from, ask the time, order food/drinks etc. I'm starting to learn it as I want to be fluent. Started using an app recently called Duolingo, it's pretty decent, only used it for 10 minutes but I already picked up some stuff I had forgotten.

Check it out: http://www.duolingo.com/

polosas 10-17-2013 08:27 PM

i speak all languages, it depends how hard i'm drunk :D

alex.missyouth 10-18-2013 06:39 AM

I'd say I have 2,5. English, Spanish and a little Portuguese. Can understand some Italian too.

diablom 10-18-2013 07:11 AM

native + english and russian. Still want to learn italian, spanish and french.

Why 10-18-2013 09:24 AM

after living in europe for years, where i met many people that claimed to speak more then one... most only speak one fluently, and the rest they are at about 50% proficiency, if that. most just get the "jist" of other languages and can barely hold a conversation.

shit my spanish blows, people would claim to know spanish, so id switch over and they were lost... i think its more about bragging then knowing, in many cases.

Why 10-18-2013 09:25 AM

just because you can order food and a cab in a language does not mean you speak it.

Jay X Industry Jobs 10-18-2013 09:29 AM

I am fluent in English, very little spanish (hola, adios)
But I can be done speak some ebonics good

TheDA 10-18-2013 09:44 AM

Cherry7 10-18-2013 03:30 PM

bigPunk 10-18-2013 10:06 PM

Two: hebrew and english ;)

Pornopat 10-18-2013 10:12 PM

I am fluent in dutch, english and spanish.
I can communicate in german, french, papiamento, indonesian, afrikaner.
So that would be 8...
In school I sucked in languages btw. I was more interested in math.

SweetlysinxX 10-18-2013 10:23 PM

I feel your pain. I cna only speak English.

Took French in middle school , was only satisfactory. Was too much of a stoner/party head to take one in high school and middle school kinda ruined it for me.

I want to learn Spanish. Im going to make sure my kid learns spanish and korean or chinese because who knows how the world will be in the next 10-20 years...

marlboroack 10-18-2013 11:06 PM

All of them using Google.

Crazy Enough 10-19-2013 01:37 AM

Brazilian Portuguese, Latin America Spanish and American English.

I don't think I need to learn more languages. I can travel anywhere and always I'll find someone who can speak at least one of these languages.

Anyway, if I was interested in investing time to learn a new language, I would go crazy with swedish because I like the country. I like Russia too, but I think the cyrillic script is too much for me. Imagine the time to learn all that! It is like japanese for me.

Less then 1% of the chinese population speaks english.
They are making a push right now but still you will have a hard time getting anything done there!

As there are 1,341,403,687 chinese, 13,414,036 speaking english aint bad...compared to how many Americans that have learnt to speak chinese.

Nice info pal! The good thing is that I'm not a big fan of China. Nothing against them at all, but between asian countries, I find Japan way more interesting, specially the girls! :thumbsup

Your comment made me research. Now I know that most people in Sweden can speak english. I'm wondering which language should I invest when I decide to start learning the next one.

O que vocês acham que eu devo fazer? :1orglaugh

tokmansta 10-19-2013 07:36 PM

Dutch, english, French and can understand German if i try hard ^^

CarlosTheGaucho 10-21-2013 01:17 PM

Apart from English I used to be actually very much fluent in German, since I enjoyed my German classes and also pretty much only watched German satellite TV while at high school (frequented plenty of influental local late night entertainment while at it).

Still have no problems with understanding or reading, however, speaking is nowhere near that level. Wish I would live in Germany for a bit to get in shape again.

As for slavic languages, besides Czech and Slovak I am more or less able to read and understand Russian to some extent.

Crazy Enough 10-26-2013 01:58 AM

Never it too late to learn something new.

Nothing is "unlearnable".

But learning a new language wont bring success. If this is the purpose, it's better to learn useful skills like marketing or something.

Tasty1 10-26-2013 06:18 AM

5

Dutch, English, German, Portuguese and the international Body Language

I just started Portuguese 2 years ago, never too late to learn. But not so easy.
I used to speak French, but haven't spoken it in 24 years.
I would go for Spanish or Portuguese as extra languages if you want to learn more.

TheMoneyMan 10-26-2013 09:25 AM

I only speak English.

Looking back, I wish I took spanish class more seriously.

hola and adios is not "very little", it is either "nothing" or "just 2 words" :1orglaugh
