Most hunters have chosen not to use it long before any law here went into effect. You want lead in a piece of meat you are going to be ingesting? Fuck no.

This is just a feel good story for the non hunting community.

Yea it's really kind of a non issue but of course the wing nuts will try to make it one.. I always felt it was pretty fucking stupid to shoot something you planned on eating with lead..

Vendzilla 10-14-2013 12:33 PM

ok, done here, back to work.
This law isn't going to do much, it doesn't go into effect till 2019
If ammo makers don't make ammo that's non lead, the law dies and if the ammo is armor piercing it dies.
Anyways, unless you hunt, it doesn't effect you. More hunters will hunt outside the state so they can do things their way, like the porn industry with condoms in LA
This is like putting a condom on the barrel of your gun! Keeps the water out?

Silver ammo was good enough for the Lone Ranger, so it's good enough for me.

Nothing says "I have completely lost my mind" more than this statement: "Have you ever seen a Bald eagle in the wild, if not, shut the fuck up".

Anyone who says this is either under the age of 12 or between stays in a mental ward.

Copper jacketed soft steel core bullets and shot -- someone will make them.

Yep, in Northern California -- golden eagles up close and on the ground -- an american bald eagle in flight at a distance. They are huge beautiful birds -- I would never shoot one, law or not, there are some things to be respected -- eagles are one.

I use to live a couple miles from Shasta Lake. They have Bald Eagles living in special nests for them there. Go out fishing on a cold morning and hear their scream as they are out looking for some fish themselves.
I was at the Santa Barbara zoo recently, they have a few there. But nothing beats seeing them in the wild.

Did any of you read the law?
It has provisions if they find that there is no bullets available and if they find that non lead ammo goes thru bullet proof vests. This sounds like a law that was passed before adequate research was done.
And what about the lead fishing weights people still use?

No this law doesn't go very far, hard to enforce. Are they going to ask every hunter to show them the chambered bullet?

Banning all lead bullets period, but after a bullet is developed that will work in older guns without tearing them up, that sounds much better.

Are you saying I'm under the age of 12 because I have seen Bald Eagles in the wild?
Or are you just saying that because I have little reverence for people posting about things they know jack shit about like you?

You say the CS gas didn't kill anyone at WACO, yet the Senate committee going over the WACO siege concluded that it was the CS gas and the FBI blocking the exits that killed most of them.

You say the NSA hasn't broken any laws, yet they admitted to breaking laws.

You say the IRS was doing it's job when they admitted to targeting conservative groups.

This is why I blocked you. I unblocked you after a week.

Now your blocked again because you are attacking what I'm saying without anything to say in your defense!

For those that want to go on a road trip and see something special
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/nonga...agle/view.html

According to that page, the area I was living in accounted for 20% of the Bald Eagles in California

Exxon Valdez oil spill.

"The carcasses of more than 35000 birds and 1000 sea otters were found after the spill. However, since most of the carcasses have sunk, this is considered a fraction of the actual death toll. The best estimates are: 250000 seabirds, 2800 sea otters, 300 harbor seals, 250 bald eagles, up to 22 killer whales and billions of salmon and herring eggs."

oopsie daisy.
