:stoned I am depressed

Hi all,

This is my story.

I have always loved the industry. When I was like 10 years old we discussed with my friends what we want to do for living. They said they wanna be football players etc, I said I want to be a porn star. Later I just wanted to be in the adult business in general.

So about a year a go, I decided to follow my passion.

I bought a DSLR and a video camera and took nude photographs of many girls. Then I built a web store and started selling 28 x 20 inch offset printed, high quality, posters. I did everything, so that the site would feel professional: SSL-licences, trust logos, beautiful UI etc.

After that, I bought ads from JuicyAds, TrafficJunky, AdWords, Bing Ads, Search.xxx ads, Facebook, send couple thousand emails to double opt-in adult lists and sent couple comments to related forums and build a Facebook page for the site. I got lot of traffic, but _zero_ sells. I tried to modify the site, changed prices etc and ran ad campaigns again, no help, no sales. After the ad campaigns were stopped, the traffic dropped to zero.

So I tried a different approach. I built my own tube platform, which would fetch only the best videos (by different factors) from popular tube sites from a specific niche. I built three different tube sites for three different niches.

After that, I bought ads and traffic from different adult brokers and high pr links from related sites. I did get lots of traffic, but after I paused the campaigns, the only traffic I had was from organic search and that's only like 1 000 visitors / day / site. Before the traffic from organic search was like ten times that, but then google results dropped. And I wouldn't be happy to 10 000 visits / day either - for a free tube site...

So I thought maybe I could build my own traffic. I did set up like 20 different blogs. From day one I had been running a blog which tells about sex travelling. The other blogs were for images only, since I didn't have time or resources for other content.

After that, I paid people to generate links to these blogs. It has been four months now and all I get is 100 visits / day to the whole network.

So I tried something else. I built a service, where people could upload photos and videos of themselves nude and browse content sent by other members - for free.

Again, I found myself buying lots of traffic and ads, which again didn't result to anything - didn't really get regular visitors or members.

Totally I have spent like $20.000 for content, links, traffic and other services and about $50.000 worth of my own time. And the only thing which I have got from this, is that it has been fucking fun doing it.

So that's about it. Do you have any suggestions what I should do different or do next? Exiting from adult business isn't an option.

Since it seems like you did most of everything yourself, maybe start offering services to others for some cash until you get your network/sites up and running.

If you post links to the sites you created (web site, tube site, blogs, etc), it may be easier for people to help you come up with some new options.

Have luck!

Quit spending money. At most get a $1.99 domain and some cheap $10 a month hosting. Earn $100 a month from it and only then maybe scale it up. Don't start off throwing money at it and thinking you will make it. I started with a free host and no domain name. It was different times then but within a few months I was making thousands a month. It's still possible today only a lot harder and it requires creative thinking.

are you saying you put 70K into it? If you have that much money to toss around hire someone that knows what they are doing to help you work with what you already have so you can get something from it.
I have thousands of scenes and I do not have enough time in the day to get the most out of it.

I think he meant he put $20k into it and then his own time which he values at $50k.

20k is still a lot to put up in this business, especially without a return..

Sounds like you SWITCHED TOO QUICKLY when things weren't working out. Stick through it-pay attention to the signals your sites are sending you. Believe it or not, there are parts that are on the verge of succeeding. Build on those. Keep experimenting. Think of making money online as a puzzle. It is fun to solve puzzles. It isn't fun to get desperate. Know the difference. Have fun and make money!

You have blinders on and you're going to go broke. Have you tried to look into other avenues such as dating, CPA or mainstream affiliate programs?

You're building sites, buying traffic etc., but you seem to be pushing one thing. Try to mix it up. Push a few different things / sites / programs / offers and you'll have a better chance at success.

This is just my opinion so you can put as much value into it as you wish.

My advice. Immediately stop trying to sell posters of nude models. You might sell a few of them, but for the most part it is a dead business.

I can't imagine the last time I saw a post of a nude girl hanging anywhere. It seems like these days the only posters that sell are of teen pop stars, movie posters, celebs etc. For most people porn is a private thing. They don't want a big poster of a girl, they want a high quality image or video on their computer that they can spank to them put back in their secret folder so nobody finds out.

If you have tried selling memberships to paysites, dating, cams and stuff like that and still are not having any luck then you may want to look at what you are doing and try to decide why it is that it is not working.

This isn't an easy business and these days it is even harder.

If you have a lot of high quality amateur content on video you might even consider selling it on clip stores or opening a small paysite of your own.

I've had some odd conversations with models, especially the nasty and obese ones. I remember one girl (who was a plus sized model) got paid a lot of money to dress up in animal outfits. The guy that paid to have them made spent around $10k, flipped out because no one wanted to buy it.

I've seen lonely forum posts in the past where someone blew $50k on making content without really knowing what was going on.

I actually feel sorry for you.

You know the feeling when you think you did everything RIGHT. You did not! You just failed.

Share #1 site with us and you will get some feedback.

Or we can tell you there is no money in porn to make you feel better.

ps:

After checking pregnantwild.com I have no clue how are you planing to make some revenue. Do you promote any praggy programs?

Thanks for your kind response.

My idea was to offer good content to people who are into preggo women and after the site would gain popularity I would add some banners.

Quite same thing with nastypeep.com, popular first and then monetize the site with extra features for paying members etc.

Kind regards,
Niko

Looks like you doing the wrong things

For example, trying to sell posters of nude models it's not work anymore.
I never did it , but have a friend who did tons of money from it, and now, he make zero....

pregnantwild.com
Why you don't promote pregnant sites?
Take a look at my sig, we have exclusive preggo sites.

You need to make better research first.
if you spend a lot of money on something that have a very very small potential - you are in trouble to lose all the investment.

Should have learned the ins and outs and how to do most things yourself instead of hiring JoeBlow FuckYourMoney to pretend to do a half ass job and not deliver any real results. What the fuck does he care, he got paid up front.

Short story, don't be a lazy fuck and learn the job that you hire others to do so you know it's being done right.

Nice, i could set up somthing like sextravelling and share experiences

But you saying you don't make money. And when we look at your sites you don't promote paysites so you can start making money. The only thing you do is offer people free porn and sent them to free sites like hardsextube and other big free tube sites that caused the adult movie industry to decline. Well, that won't get you any money, you are helping your competitors get traffic for free. That way you also never will know if people are willing to pay for preggy porn cause you sent all your traffic to free sites. You ate hoping that you get a lot of traffic that you can monetize, but you have no clue yet if that will work.

You didn't have a clear plan and still don't have a clue how to make money. You just blew 20.000 USD and didn't even know the basics of internet marketing.

I suggest you spent the next 4 weeks reading this forum and other adult webmaster forums. look what niche market you want and what sponsors you could sent your traffic to. Look how other people make money with movies from the big tube sites. What systems do they use etcetra. And maybe you will conclude that you will try something diferent than tubes or you learn from other people how to make that tube model profitable.

Good luck

Exiting from adult business isn't an option.

well, stop spending money and start trading links, having link exchanges with other sites is good for SE indexing and give you a permanent link. you want links to your site from other sites..no just blogs or circle jerks,
