Solar panels have already dropped an insane amount. I built a system for a RV and it's was about $1200 for the whole system. The panels were only a tad over $300 of that cost. It was roughly $1/watt as I have a 300/watt system. The bulk of the money went to the batteries,charge controller and battery monitor.
