Wanted to post an update to my situation. Since starting this thread, Kim contacted me and made good on a partial payment. About a third of what is owed, no info as to if/when I can expect the balance due.
I have received a few emails from others in a similar situation. Hopefully everyone will get taken care of. I will keep everyone posted in this thread until I am paid in full. I would encourage others to chime in as well.

I don't have a dog in this, but I have a friend who didn't get paid for work done. He chalked it up as a loss and and learning experience. As a result, won't ever do work without payment 1st.
I never say anything when it doesn't concern me, but when a Vet like Jim Gunn chimes in, it gets real really fast.
I won't bash or talk about things I know nothing about, but Im guessing its issues with collections and a state of our business.
I do believe if ATK had the money read ally available, shooters would be paid, but I feel that companies make less and have less.
Sucks! Hope things get resolved.

Glad you have had positive dealings with them. As did I for ten years prior to my posting. I think I made my reticence on bringing this public apparent.
I also had it on good authority at the time of posting some shooters were getting paid and some were not, so I think my title was dead on. The fact that others chimed in and even more sent me emails directly further supports my title.

Rochard, I like you and all as far as I know you from the shows and such. But you're totally out of line here. Your personal experience as an affiliate or whatever is completely irrelevant. It seems like you didn't even read the thread up to this point. Because if anything the original poster understated the problem as he wrote it. There are at least three producers in this thread alone who posted their own tales of woe and believe me there are more out there still silently seething.
Based on the feedback I got a couple of months ago after my diatribe here on the board and via phone calls that I received from people that had never previously called me in my life at the time, I think most people rightly believed every single word I said too. I provided my follow up earlier that I have indeed gotten some payments so far, but the issues are ongoing for me and others even at this point as we are about to cross into a new year.Comment

Wanted to update this thread as I mentioned I would keep everyone informed.
As of last week, my remaining balance has been paid in full. Again I would like to say how difficult it was to bring this to the boards after a 10+ year relationship, but in my case it appears to have helped.
I am still getting emails and phone calls that others are still dealing with this and I wish them well, hopefully this post and the social media blasts will help them as well.--

I was pleasantly surprised at how many respected industry players pulled me aside at Internext last week to ask me about this debacle. Made me feel good about my reputation that even people who hardly know me but know the other party well seemed to believe every word I had written too. I wouldn't be surprised if the ramifications of this are going to last well beyond settling up.
Anyway, in fairness I should also update- I've been getting smallish payments every week or two for the last four months. I'm still owed nearly $8500 as of today though. Just waiting it out until it all gets paid off.Last edited by Jim_Gunn; 01-23-2014, 01:07 PM.Comment

You might be waiting a while longer to get paid unfortunately. Kim's been going hog wild spending our money on business acquisitions, travel and getting laid instead of paying his bills. I heard direct from the agents and models that he's overpaying $2400 per shoot to fuck porn chicks in Vegas, LA and even flying them out to exotic Hawaii so he can get pussy on other peoples' dime. And when he really fancies the girl he's needlessly booking them multiple times to the tune of up to $12k apiece just to keep them around for his amusement.
I've been getting paid off in dribs and drabs every couple of months for over a year now. My now still almost $4,000 balance is overdue by 14 months at this point. We're just not a priority to Kim and he clearly doesn't care about his reputation or abhorrent business practices. At this rate I'll be lucky see the rest of what I'm owed by 2015.Comment

He would never pay up front, so we never shot for him. Credit is earned. Not given to anyone who asks.
Seriously these guys were such bad payers and paid such low prices. I could never figure out why people shot for them and gave them credit. Location, equipment, model, makeup, extras are all paid on the day or before the shoot.
To shoot content that's worth at least twice as much if sold via a content store. And the money keeps coming day in day out for years.Comment
