    Giant 55" Computer touch screens at Fox News

    I saw this tonight on The Daily Show and couldn't believe my eyes.

    As cool as they look though, I wonder how useful they are? According to Appleinsider.com, the 55" screens have less screen resolution than a 9.7" Apple iPad.

    The Apple Insider article is kind of dumb because he keeps making a point about the low resolution. My thinking is that OF COURSE it's low resolution. They are basically 55" HDTV's at standard HDTV resolution. If they were higher res they would be alot more than $7000 a pop.

    But anyway, and But still... I hate Fox news, but this is still a pretty cool setup. Tacky maybe, but cool.

                                                  We recently did a kiosk for the Air Force - It was comprised of six of those huge touch screens. All I can say is, after having those screens at our shop for 9~ months I was sold. If Apple had a more suitable touch screen OS for large screens like that I'd probably get one.

                                                              Actually, I watched the debut show from that studio and Shep gave a tour, that whole setup is largely to monitor and verify the posts made on social media, before it becomes "news" -- just as porn changed, so has the news, with everyone toting camera phones and tweeting -- but just because you see it on the Internet doesn't make it true.

                                                                                  Id imagine work flow would be somewhat slower having to manually move your hand to select something on such a huge screen.

                                                                                  While I love screen real estate, if you cant select things quickly all that space does nothing to increase performance.
