My attempt to sign up for health care ?..

Well at 6:22 I decided to sign up for health care on the gov website. After filling out a few pages of info I got a rectangle that said "please wait" with a green arrow going around in a circle.

Every 30 minutes for more than 2 hours I got a pop-up asking if I wanted to continue to hold or time-out in 5 minutes. Then I got a pop-up notification that my personal information was incorrect, try again.

The exact same information I filled out on a federal gun application form for a new H&K .45 I bought last Thursday.

WTF?

You mean that it took this long for anyone to notice the site didn't work?

Now I'm thirsty for sweet tea and sushi. Thanks.

The same name, social security number, other info that is required to purchase a hand gun is incorrect when signing up for health care?

And incorrect based on what other information?

If the information you gave them does not match your Experien credit report, they kick it back.

My info meets the criteria for buying a handgun, paying federal, state and local income, and property taxes but is incomplete or in error on a credit report to buy mandatory insurance?

That's pretty fucked up.

I'd imagine that your income is too high to get an subsidies. If it is, just apply directly at http://www.bcbsfl.com/ (or any other insurer... I've always been a personal fan of Blue Cross). You can bypass healthcare.gov if your income does not factor into things.

I hope that's true, at least. That's what I did. They have a link for those signing up under ACA.

The only thing I haven't figured out is how the government will know that you have insurance. I guess insurance companies will submit the names and SSNs of its members to the HHS and IRS. Especially since so many people will still be on their employer sponsored plans.

I've never heard anything about having to use healthcare.gov, just that you could use it if you wanted to -- or lived in a state that did not put together its own exchange, like Florida.

This needs to be updated to today's political climate:
Quote:
When the body was first made, all the parts wanted to be Boss....

The brain said. "I should be Boss because I control the whole body's responses and functions." The feet said, "We should be Boss as we carry the brain about and get him to where he want to go." the hand said, "We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money."

And so it went on and on with the heart, the lungs and the eyes, until finally the asshole spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of asshole being the Boss. So the asshole went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work. Within a short time, the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered. Eventually, they all decided that the asshole should be the Boss, so the motion was passed. All the others parts did all the work while the Boss just sat and passed out the shit.

Moral of the story.....
You don't need brains to be a Boss....any asshole will do!

Did you work for multiple insurance companies or only BC? I ask because I've had United Healthcare, Kaiser, Cigna and BC/BS. Kaiser was my favorite, but they're inconvenient unless they have a huge local presence and BC/BS was the second best by far.

In other words, it's probably safe to say that all insurance companies are shady like that.

That interesting considering the number of young adults they need to signup to make the risk pool feasible. I imagine that there are a lot of young adults who do not yet have a Experian profile. I hope they have a failover in place in case there is no record. Never mind how wrong that information can be. I go through and dispute at least 5 things a year, many of them to do with my identity. Pretty sure they have me confused with another Jesse based on some of the addresses I've seen for me. Places I've never even been to.

Yeah I just went through it too just to see and they have those stupid Experian questions to verify your identity. None of the information pertained to me and I cannot get past it. It asked about a street I've never lived on, a pet I've never had health insurance for and other question that had zero to do with me. WTF.

Edit: NM, did it again, got different questions and made it through. It's pretty fucked up though how Experian thinks me and another dude are the same ... except there are no signs of identity theft on my credit report.

I know, I'm just stunned Obama Care now uses private consumer reporting agencies with public agencies to determine my eligibility for a mandatory Federal program. The same agencies with massive errors on a lot of peoples credit reports.

So ? this credit card banging company fined by the FTC for charging customers $79.95 for free credit reports. Owned by a furniture company from Great Britain is now a major player in our health insurance program? THEIR information overrides our governments?

I have to talk with them about my personal information to comply with US federal law? Wow!

My state knew in advance that they wouldn't be ready so they have notice up saying it will be a few weeks until online signups are live. In the meantime you can send them your contact information and they will call you.

I can't see why anyone is surprised about any of this. Remember, it's the federal government we are talking about here.

So last night I got past the security questions, got my account, my verification email, and when I went to log in it took 2 hours, then said the information was invalid. This morning the same security questions are answered the exact same way they were last night and I can't even access the account I set up!

What I'm really surprised at is how a foreign owned credit reporting service, caught scamming people for $79.95 on free signups, is somehow in the middle of the approval process.

Can you imagine the amount of fraud and waste there will end up being in this program.

Here's someone else's screen shot of basically the same problem I was having.

Keep in mind the information I used is the same as I use to purchase and get approval for a handgun and to pay federal, state and local taxes. But now I have to argue with a credit company about information sent to them by cable companies, utility companies and whoever else sends them info.

We have a group healthcare plan here. So far not a single employee has signed up for it.
Oddly enough it's a non-issue in the factory. People decided they couldn't afford it when they started working here and they still can't afford it today. I'll check today, but I estimate that at least 60% of the employees aren't taking our healthcare that we subsidize.

Why would it surprise you that something like this would go live with zero problems, while half the govt is shut down?

In this biz people's static web pages die from being listing on the Hun for getting a 100k hits.. Do you have a clue as to what this web page has to do? It has to allow user input to check multiple data bases at once and hundreds of thousands of people are hitting it all at the same time. Look at all the server farms it's takes for sites like google to do this, you don't just create something like this with zero bugs..

People have till the end of the year to sign up, there is no need to rush into it now.. Wait a week or two for traffic levels to taper off and for them to get the bugs worked out.. Does that really take much common sense to understand? Of course not but you just want to bitch about Obama..

Then your group plan must be pretty unaffordable for the wages you pay.

Signed up yesterday. Other being a bit annoyed at having to answer the same questions multiple times it wasn't hard to do. Now I'm just waiting for my submitted ID to be verified.

Experian and any other CRA only reports what is reported to them. They essentially just cross check if that data meets 2 or 3 things then it gets posted. This means if a person shares your name, perhaps lives in the same state it can be reported on your CR..

What many people don't know is insurance companies also have a rating agency that works just like credit and it can also have bad info. For instance auto insurance uses Lexus Nexus and they had me with 3 auto wrecks this year.. I had to file a dispute because my insurance co was going to up my rates..

I've also had these issues on my health insurance and my credit report, because there is another guy in my state that has the same first and last name but also the same middle initial. To top it off the guy was born the exact same day and year as me..

He ended up both on my CR and also Humana insurance somehow managed to charge his medical expensive a to my account. All because they don't verify your SS when reporting.

Yes but you should check your cr and dispute items that don't belong.. At the very least do it once a year with the free reports you are allotted.

Are you Jewish.. All you did is repeat exactly what I said.

You make me laugh.
I started in 1997 and generated 100's of millions of unique hits and a lot of cash with the sites I owned. Up until just a few years ago, my sites did 400k unique daily. Just with legacy traffic the sites were doing close to 100K unique daily and that was with 0 effort.
And it was only a hobby. It was fun,, I always told myself that when the time came that it wasn't I'd let it go. And that's exactly what I did. No regrets.

Does anyone here know you, or what you do online?

You are correct about one thing. Obama is a clown, in my opinion.

I was reading they were told let people shop without signing up. Since they decided not to do that so people would see the tax credit they would get.It fucked up the system because it has to go thru so many steps.

That's a very valid point really.

Exactly. I wanted to see what the program was. What my costs would be under the various bronze, silver, gold, etc levels of coverage and which state I have a residency in had a better plan. I didn't want or intend to actually sign up.

Instead I had to fill out every step, clog the system and meet the information gathered by a credit report company before I could get a quote. The only thing I learned is the government required health care program can't accept me until I contact a credit agency.

Which brings up the question why? And just how much is this agency charging the gov/taxpayer for every search, every phone call, every change on their reports? Shouldn't this just be tied to your social security number? ?. Not info reported by car dealers, cable companies, furniture stores, etc?

Oddly enough it's a non-issue in the factory. People decided they couldn't afford it when they started working here and they still can't afford it today. I'll check today, but I estimate that at least 60% of the employees aren't taking our healthcare that we subsidize.
prolly better for your company in terms of cheaper labor cost no?

Sounds like something is wrong with the heath care system. Time to switch to single payer?

I find it pathetic they can't build a website to handle traffic, it's not rocket science if fucking porn tubes can do it the government should be able to find a contractor to do it correctly. Oh and pre-launch they kept sending me idiotic emails trying to convince me to signup once it launched, morons.
I also like the fact that there are three levels 'gold, silver, bronze' but they dont' tell you what each offers, that's fucking stupid.
