I am from a 3rd world country just like cuba, and all facilities are available to everybody, you simply do not know and I do...I will agree with you that their buildings are not like in beverly hills but this has shit to do with healthcare, you can keep hygene in a 100 year old building...

Our current medical system dosnt work.
Im pro "obama care" even though I have great insurance and will most likely be paying more.

I'm disgusted with the current state of healthcare. I've had a painful hernia for 2 years now that I wish I could get repaired. Unfortunately, I make too much to qualify for any assistance, even though I live paycheck to paycheck (because of past medical debt).
I work for a place that does all of the healthcare claims and payments for our state's insurance. So, I get to see all these people who don't want to work, would rather sit around playing games & smoke pot all day than lift a finger, get free healthcare, 100% paid for by my taxes. Yes, I know some people legitimately need assistance, but most of our members don't.

From the Rates and Plans I have been seeing, it is not much cheaper than what someone could of shopped around and got close to the same prices, for the coverage.
The only ones are the People who will get the "credit" that will see significant help.
I have seen where the same plans for people already paying are Cheaper, Staying the Same, or not worth it. So it just depends on what you shopped around to find, and what State you live in.
My state, I guess if you make Zero, we didn't take the expansion for medicare or whatever, so unless it is deemed medically necessary for your life you don't get approved according to my friend who needs shoulder surgery.
I am wondering what the rates for pre existing conditions are going to be. I have heard the same, and I heard one guy say that the ACA said his would be $1,300 a month...

I didn't realize there was any where in this country that atleast basic PIP auto insurance wasn't mandatory. I guess that is one more thing to make me say wtf about Cali. Yes in florida it is mandatory as it should be every where.
*edit* Ok I see now your point was if you don't drive it is not mandatory or you can pay 35k to avoid it. Personally I think being allowed to pay 35k to not have insurance is bullshit being even a small accident can rack up more than that amount in medical bills but that is just my personal opinion. I for one am in support of people being required to have insurance for the privilege of driving not to protect themselves but to protect the other people on the road.

Companies can do whatever the fuck the want. When it comes to the government, it's our tax dollars so we have a vested interest. Parks are shut down and park rangers are being sent home, only to receive pay for work they didn't do. It's way more than 800k my aunt whom works for a NASA contractor has been out of work since the first day. If it goes on more than 2 or 3 weeks they will all be officially laid off. Most of the people she works will are all not working and they aren't counted in that 800k. There are a lot of businesses both large and small that are effected by this and most of them aren't counted in that 800k number.
However the die hard Republicans will still once again vote for their favorite knuckle dragging tea party because the kook aide is strong with them and they actually think it's all Obamas fault..In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Cash Bond
Most people can't afford a cash bond, so they have to buy insurance.
The problem with a cash bond, is if you can do that you must have other assets. You may never be responsible for an accident, but if you're in one, all the other driver's lawyer has to do is convince the jury you're at fault. Then they can go after your other assets. Usually when you have insurance, the other side just sues for the maximum of the insurance.Comment
