Grrrrrr...Don't ever use AdRotate for WP

This sucks. I spent all flipping morning getting my ad zones set up for the new site, adding my ads, tweaking the CSS to get everything just so. Then the flipping plugin breaks. 500 server error on the front end only. So I disable my plugins one by one and what do you know, AdRotate is the culprit.

    Grrr...

Trying out OIO for WP instead to see how it goes.

Gah, AdRotate found another victim! We've been having customers having problems with it. I agree, just stay away from it.

For a freebie site, WP is fine, imo. Especially if you know how to tweak it. I wouldn't use it for a pay site though.

OIO is pretty decent. The only thing it doesn't do is let me weight individual ads so that they show up more often. That would be a nice feature to have.

I've been running adrotate for at least a year without a hitch. No,. I'm not saying its awesome and not saying yall should use it. I've just gotten lucky i suppose. but I'd love to see if there's a better one out there that 'the majority' prefers.

I'm checking this one out to replace Bannerize on my Hentai site because it seems to be very resource heavy.

With simple ads manager, how to ad places, ad zones, and ad blocks relate?

Nevermind. I sorted it out. I like Simple Ads Manager even better than OIO - I especially like that I can target ads to show up only for specific tags.

If you need a simple rotating ad (e.g. banners, text blocks or any other HTML code) at the bottom of every post, you can use this simple freeware plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-quote/

Just your ads as raw HTML lines (one ad per line) into WP Quote box. E.g.:

                        Code:
                        <p align="center"><a href="http://www.mysite.com/><img src="/mybanner.jpg"></a></p>
                        <p align="center"><a href="http://www.mysite2.com/><img src="/anotherbanner.jpg"></a></p>
                        <p align="center"><a href="http://www.mysite3.com/>MY TEXT AD</p>
                        And vualá!
                        Obey the Cowgod

I appreciate the recommendation. I think I'll stick w/ Simple Ad Manager though. It's a freebie and I can set different ad zones, weight individual ads, and target specific pages / tags.

                          Thanks again!

It's a good one, but mine is much lighter and sufficiently faster/resource friendly. This makes a difference on sites with intensive traffic

SAM is much lighter weight than the other ad management plugins I've tried and it has functionality that I need that WP Quote doesn't have. WP Quote is a good little plugin though. Just a bit simplistic for my needs for this particular site.
