    BlackBerry Ltd. (BBRY), the smartphone maker that?s evaluating a sale, will cut 4,500 jobs and record an inventory writedown of as much as $960 million after a new set of devices failed to catch on with consumers.

                          Blackberry is much more expensive than others, the fact that owners and other top level management knew that their product is behind from other company.

                          They should try to hire new strategic planner!

                              I always felt the hardware inside the BlackBerry was about 1 year behind. Combine that with the worst browser ever you are bound to fail.
                              They need to clear that from their image.
                              I think they could do a pretty quick rebound if they put focus on working jointly with a large social network... that might be why they are being evaluated
