Not using it but you will not only see an increase in initial sales but even more so with retention of sales.
Cancelling subscriptions with Paypal can be a little confusing, you can forget to do it, and unlike a creditcard that can decline, paypal can rebill a customers creditcard, bank account (virtually no declines) and even their paypal balance... three possibilities for a rebill vs. just 1 over-used creditcard. For this reason paypal retention ratios can be awesome.
Back in the day when paypal was 100% ok with porn, we used them and made a ton of money. One day out of the blue they held our funds along with an ass ton of other webmasters. Reason that we were finally able to get out of them? " Suspicious Activity " They sat on the money for 6 months and then one day we got the money in our account, All of it and the paypal account was closed.

Never even thought of using them again.
This isn't using them directly. It is using them via Epoch.
And the results are outstanding. Especially rebills.

Very good; for European users only; but Paypal via Epoch accounts nearly same sales as Mastercard for Europe; Visa is still 2+ times Mastercard. Note that europeans are more paranoids about give credit card number online, and US/CA people, so they may prefer paypal more than US/CA people.
LOL, are there any actual site/program owners with firsthand experience as to how "outstanding" the results are? And care to share a ballpark figure of the improvement they've recorded?

Yes, I'd like to see "outstanding" quantified in some fashion.
I have the numbers firsthand I told for europe the paypal reached nearly mastercard. Germans and Italians like paypal a lot. Can't say about rebills because we're a cam site and guys buy minute packages each time, is not a subscription. Perhaps no programs giving numbers here because they're afraidyou're the tax office.

Yeah, I'd figure the PayPal option would take a sizeable amount of shares from CC transactions.
But more wondering if it's leading to consistent overall sales increases - would those PayPal customers have purchased anyway even without that option (i.e. with CCs), or is it legitimately bringing in broader sales? Far as exact #s go, I get that some people keep that close to the vest. Others have no problem posting screenshots of their stats and exact $$$ amounts, so it varies. I'm just curious about ballpark or general trends.
Often on this board you've got a whole flock of people repeating the same thing or opinion as if it's true, without any real data provided. Payment processing is one of those subjects.

We have many merchants who process products and mainstream who have offered Paypal along with a credit card option.
Typically sales do not really seem to increase when tested strictly against a credit card only page vs a page offering credit cards and Paypal. They simply offer another way to pay.

That is what I would think. The only thing I read in this thread that seemed true was regarding rebills. For some reason paypal seems to rebill forever (and I am talking about mainstream) but still.

Sounds like you've seen that firsthand (in mainstream)? It'd be interesting to check the #s on this and see if they really do average more/longer rebills and if so, just how much.
I'm trying to think of reasons why this would be the case. Maybe in part because many people still get paper CC statements, which gives them another opportunity to notice & think about the charge? Whereas Paypal is nearly all electronic. I'd also wager people don't check their Paypal online statement nearly as much as bank/CCs.

Very different if you mainly have UK traffic as we tend not to use credit cards so much and now many UK sites are not allowing debit card transactions because of ATVOD.
Hi guys,
anyone using epoch can tell me how well the paypal option is doing for them? How much has it increased sales by?
Epoch is awesome - however the list of countries who are allowed to use Paypal is not that big and does not include USA, Canada - in fact my members are coming mostly from these countries, while just one guy from France :-(
Can't say I have a big boost though ... :-( Maybe when they include USA the things will change ...
OK I checked better and some old customers using CC had switched using paypal, so it is not new or added users. But I can see some first sale new user (who was long time free users, even months) who literally all started buying as soon as Paypal logo was added. That's added sales, but not "as much as mastercard".
Can anyone post URL to an site who use Epoch and Paypal for EU?
See signature. But I think 100% of the sites based in Europe who use Epoch have Paypal enabled. I understand only european merchant can enable Paypal for european users; not USA merchants.
