Here in Brazil we have credit / debit cards, but there's one big catch!
Most cards are VISA and Mastercard, but "Valid In Brazil Only". This statement is printed on the card. This card operates only with REAL (our currency).
Only people with a good and fat bank account can have what we call "International Credit Card". This international card operates in REAL, DOLLAR and sometimes EURO.
So, if you have brazilian traffic and you think it's pure shit, it is... but not for Brazilian Programs that operates natively (not converted from USD) with REAL. The only problem is that there's no Brazilian Programs
So, if you or the program you work for bill clients in any currency other than REAL using a merchant account from any country other than Brazil, most brazilians won't be able to pay. If they try, they will get a declined transaction message.
We have a billing system called PagSeguro. They do allow porn, but there's no software integrated with it.
I'm wondering how good something properly translated and working with a brazilian billing company like PagSeguro could sell...
Beyond all that, we have another payment method very popular called boleto. It's one bill with some numbers where people print and can pay almost everywhere.
