Unless you are being paid by cash, and you don't use banks, have a mortgage, car payments, loan payments if you get audited, you are fucked. Every transaction you do at a bank, anything to do with paying back credit (cards, loans, mortgages etc. etc.) is recorded and archived. If Revenue Canada decided to audit you (watch who you piss off in life) you would have a lot of explaining to do.

Holy crap, A pretty basic question, and I'm shocked that several of you claim to not know the answer.
Income is income, that's why they call it income tax. It's pretty fucking simple. Did you think that the internet or cross-border commerce was somehow tax-exempt? |

![]() p00p is right. You have to declare everything. If it's deposited in a bank or transferred into your bank - there is a record of the transaction. If you are sending your money offshore to a country that will not divulge your transactions you may be good until you transfer money back into your account in Canada (in which they can audit you and ask details of the said accounts - why you have money there and where this money came from ). If it's in any country that has taxation agreements - they can and will get the info eventually.

The only thing my accountant was telling me was a little 'iffy' was the GST and PST. Sponsors (not in Canada) don't charge it regardless of where the surfer is living. He suggested we get the GST and PST registered for any sponsors in Canada and any costs/purchases where we have paid the GST/PST tax on for that traffic or surfers.
