Wait a minute..... MisterPeabody is now The Porn Nerd, and has changed all his sites/branding?

When did that happen?

Most likely right after the cease and desist letter or demand letter from Dreamworks.

I didn't catch that either. I'm usually surfing on phone so everything is small. I don't think peabody brand turned into porn nerd... not certain though. I'm again, on this phone.

I guess most people possibly wouldn't know that Mister Peabody was a cartoon that was on the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show - whenever. 60's, i guess. Regardless, was not the brightest idea to name a porn network after a childrens cartoon character. Was only a matter of time before they caught it. I'm sure he was on the receiving end of some very nasty threats, claiming obscene amounts in damages (including statutory damages) and had to turn over the domains and never use/counterfeit their marks again.

He always seemed very cool was this was a colossal stupid move in choice of names to use.

There will be an announcement coming, pin threads, advertising, etc, to explain the situation. The Porn Nerd and the new Porn Nerd Network has been coming for a long time. I decided to make the change for marketing reasons and to avoid confusion. Change can be a good thing and the new name/network will do even better. :)

Stay tuned.....:)

I think the squealer may be right and although the peabody domains still resolve for me, I think in light of the article below on wikipedia it is only a matter of time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Peabody_&_Sherman

"Mr. Peabody & Sherman is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film based on the characters from the Peabody's Improbable History segments of the 1960s animated television series The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. It is produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Rob Minkoff is the director, and Alex Schwartz and Denise Nolan Cascino are the producers. Mr. Peabody & Sherman will feature the voices of Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Stephen Colbert, Ellie Kemper, Ariel Winter, Allison Janney, and Stephen Tobolowsky. The film is scheduled to be released on March 7, 2014"

When you search "mister peabody" in Yahoo, 6 of the top 10 results are porn sites!

Yeah... standard operating procedure would be to do a cleanup. These companies have huge legal teams to do nothing but protect intellectual property and trademarks. You cant have people infringing on the marks... however, far worse than that is to release a childrens movie and have those infringing on your marks, using them to promote pornography. I have always thought that this was all obvious and obviously a bad move. Apparently not to all :)

Oh - and yes, I am still very cool. :)

Not trying to bullshit, just being honest. Five years ago, when I started (Jan15, 2009) I had a Goal that I would no longer be 'Mister Peabody' in five years. That's how long I gave myself in this crazy business to 'make it'. Jan of 2014 is five full years so I decided over the summer the time was here to make the change. I started out shooting content (obviously clueless) so I never felt good about "me" being "out there" tho I'm not ashamed at all. Other than here on GFY I never really pushed 'Mister Peabody' the brand all that hard, instead focusing on my other sites like ErosExotica etc.

(I will also be starting a whole new affiliate program and network this Fall to handle just my 'erotic' websites. I began 'separating out' my paysites in June for this major switchover.)

I was unaware of all the above as I just went about my business of changing to The Porn Nerd. LOL Ah well, timing is everything eh? :)

You had a 5 year goal to aggressively build a brand (including all the animated youtube videos) and then hastily destroy it all overnight?

Sounds legit. :)

LOL Those YouTube videos have been down for a long time now. Hard to believe but YES - my Goal? To either be OUT of the porn biz in five years, having sold my little empire, or to be so successful I could 'hand the keys off' to another person or team to run the place so I could pursue what this whole madness was about to begin with: to earn a steady income while I wrote books. LOL It's true! I was a journalist for almost 15 years before all this (the Peabody Award was the inspiration) and when journalism died after 9/11 I said 'fuck it' and looked for ANYthing else to do. Being BROKE I shot some homemade porn and off we went....but I never wanted to be a full-time 'pornographer', just someone who made some nice scratch (anonymously) online with porn.

Then some of my sites BLEW UP and I suddenly found myself way more successful (and entrenched) than I thought I would be. So yes, I know it's hard to believe but it's 100% true: I've mentioned my "Five Year Plan' many times here on GFY and now we are approaching the end of it so it's time for Phase II. :)

(Much of the above will be restated in the Announcement To Affiliates coming soon but there's a sneek peak. LOL)

I have always been 'unusual' in that I am NOT the norm (whatever that is) so my Goals have always been...unique. Are they 'smart'? LOL Who the fuck knows but I'm happy so it's all good, right? :)
