If you think about it... The US is going to bomb Syria because Syria bombed Syria.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that bombs, for lack of a better word, is good. Bombs are right, bombs works. Bombs clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Bombs, in all of its forms; bomb for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And bombs, you mark my words, will not only save syria, but that other malfunctioning country called the USA. Thank you very much.

Better to forget the bombs. Let's all just ignore it.
I heard someone was taking donations to sent a nice fruit basket to the survivors over there. Anyone got a link? |

?The Founding Fathers were, as in most things, profoundly right. That?s why I want to be very clear: if the President takes us to [war] without Congressional approval, I will call for his impeachment.
I do not say this lightly or to be provocative. I am dead serious. I have chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee. I still teach constitutional law. I?ve consulted with some of our leading constitutional scholars. The Constitution is clear. And so am I.? ? Joe Biden, 2007. :1orglaugh . |

anyhoo, that link, you know, i would not be surprised in the least if the rebels were behind the chemical attack. they fire em and blame it on the government and stand-by while we git er donw. either way, it's a cluster fuck, both sides are shit asses, we can't get involved/we have to get involved. i don't have a dog in the fight and if we all got to call in our votes on this, i'd call in a no-go vote. |
So let me see if I correctly understand the situation.
For most Americans (and those on here) they are torn between bombing Syria or Miley Cyrus?? * * That is more fucked up than I can believe * * So I am just going to assume that this is still 1960s and that I'm still stoned in an small apartment above a cafe and that all of this is just me having a really bad trip. Therefore when I land I must remember to kick the ass of the Polish guy that sold me the orange sunshine. |

Americans don't want to see anything Happen with Syria, polls show we don't care how many Syrians die as long as we aren't dropping the bombs. If we do anything it will be a war version of slapping Assad on the hand.

They made a statement with the same identical tone before the attack on the Balcans, then in Afghanistan, then Iraq and now in Syria, its simply old rusty CCCP style, they need to get their voice out to show the world they still exist. |

On the night of 12 June 1999, 200 Russian airborne troops arrived in Yugoslavia to assist their ally and occupied Pristina International Airport Adem Jashari ahead of the arrival of NATO troops. NATO Command had closed airspace, making it impossible to send support and ammunition from Russia to Serbia, which could have led to confrontation involving Russia and the block CIS. NATO eventually gave control of the airport to Russia. The Kosovo War ended on June 11, 1999, and a joint NATO-Russian peacekeeping force was to be installed in Kosovo. Russia had expected to receive a peacekeeping sector independent of NATO, and were angered when this was refused. A contingent of 200 Russian troops deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina then crossed into Kosovo and occupied Pristina International Airport in Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo. Upon hearing of the deployment, American NATO commander Wesley Clark called NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana, and was told "you have to transfer authority" in the area. Clark then ordered a contingent of 500 British and French paratroopers to seize the airport by force, an order that is still debated. British officer James Blunt, who commanded the contingent, questioned and did not carry out this order. His delay was sanctioned by British General Mike Jackson. Jackson refused to enforce Clark's orders, reportedly telling him "I'm not going to start the Third World War for you." Jackson instructed the paratroopers to encircle the airport instead. Russia placed several airbases on standby, and prepared battalions of paratroopers to depart for Pristina on Il-76 military transport planes. Fearing that Russian aircraft were heading for the airport, General Clark planned to order British tanks and armored cars to block the runway, and requested American Admiral James O. Ellis for helicopter support. His orders were not carried out, and the United States instead put political pressure on neighboring states not to allow Russia to use their airspace to ferry in the reinforcements. Russia was forced to call off the reinforcements after Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania refused requests by Russia to use their airspace |

this is exactly it, when something like this happens in the world everyone has to expect the united states to do something about it.
if opinion polls in the past about the war on terrorism are true americans aren't as stupid as they are often thought of by people from overseas. that war has gone on so long now it is still raging it wasn't even an election issue between romney and obama last year. |
