If you calculate the price of hardware + electricity, its not worth the investment.

Check Google for "ASIC bitcoin miner". When they are available, price on bitcoin will drop, and your old hardware setup will be worthless.

If you don't believe me, do the calculations yourself. Don't be naive and believe the hype about easy money.

If you havent pre-ordered and dont have a miner yet (ASCI) youre too late in the game. Mining pool or not by the time you get equip to mine at the capacity there is today it will be too late.

Your best bet is to mine LTC and then exchange LTC for bitcoin
that is the only way to really make it profitable right now

Also not everyone is doing it for profit. Some people do it for the fun of it believe it or not

My calculations are done based on running multiple pools to minimize stale processes.

it seems like a great investment, but payment by wire/bitcoin only suggests they'll jerk people around for months till mining won't be profitable anymore...

pretty much just like it happened with other mining hardware vendors...

Potentially true, however they seem to be in Silicon Valley vs Russia or China.. so a bit more faith, I would of liked to pay with cc as well or paypal for a bit of protection, but then looking at the flip side If i where a company dealing in millions potentially last thing I want is Big US gov or some bank to block my account for any reason.. :/ anyhow.. thats one thing lacking with btc some sort of protection if the seller doesnt provide you the product/item/service
