Some scientists predict a future where our bodies are patrolled by tiny DNA computers that monitor our well-being and release the right drugs to repair damaged or unhealthy tissue.

I hope to be around when this comes out.

Humanity will be extinct in 100 years, killed off by it's own creations.

I don't want to be around when this comes out... The human race will degenerate very quickly then. To trust my body to a comp that will satisfy all my needs - oh, no

Why???? Norton anti-virus has a "live-update" facility..... why cant these ones have a similar thing?

So long as they dont charge exorbitant fees for upgrades, it might be worthwhile.

Everyone already has a computer that runs on DNA

Their brains.

If my brain is a CPU, I need a bigger cache.

To me, having thousands of SPUs sounds just fine. God knows I could use some extra help sometimes

not trying to be a smartass or anything, but the way the brain works is totally different than this.. our brain produces electric signals just like a regular computer (and unlike a DNA computer) but the architecture is totally different and it could not been simulated yet.. even if they did, i dont think they will ever be able to fit 100,000,000,000 transisters (neurons) in a small place.. even if they did that, i dont think they will be able to write a software, that is as advanced as what we are born with... maybe someday, they will take out the brains of animals or human clones and use those since they cant build it themselves..

Maybe when these dna computers are out, we can program them to make us use the full 100% of our brain power instead of 10%.

Hello no those little jibber jabbers runnin around ticking timebombs in my cell membranes like i need some fucking crappy ass code in my immune system working at .2 microns -- maybe if I code the shit myself i'd be ok -- as long as the little shits have flash memory and no back doors that could be hijacked by hackers. Like i need my DNA hacked by some 14 y/o pimply faced kid that couldn't hack his own pimples into submission... AHahahahah!
