The death toll is 638 officially - Probably 1000's...

They have been killed by an army that overthrew the elected government - The UN stepped in and told them to 'Show Restraint'.....

They were nearly furious...

The UN had no problem watching 2,000,000 innocent men, women and children being hacked to death in Rwanda with countless more having limbs cut off and stacked in piles. Why would they care hundreds of protesters? They didnt call that "genocide" because it would have been compulsory for them to act and actually move to save lives.

They had no problems watching warlords in Somalia gun down starving crowds of people as they stole food aid.

They had no problems watching hundred of thousands of people (largely women and children) being raped butchered in Darfur.

The list goes on and on and on about what the UN doesn't care about. Human life is never high on the list of concerns.

Morsi was ousted I believe because he re-negged on many promises and was unilaterally moving the country towards sharia.

I am unaware of any functioning true democracies. US is not one.

The thing is, Egypt had a US supported dictator for about 30 years. Morsi sacked the parliament and made decrees. Like dictator. Not a very democratic guy. Unilaterally moved to change the Constitution. Has been re-writing it in fact.

No matter what its fucked up ville. Thanks to US (and friends) and UN mostly, imo.

Non-Morsi supporters feel duped. They cannot offer a counter to him because too fragmented.

The attacks on Christians? My guess, CIA. Islamic Brotherhood as one sworn enemy and not Christian.

The UN does not "make peace" or "enforces peace". Meaning, it doesn't have the ability to take on the military forces of Egypt.

If there is a peace treaty in place, the UN can help keep it in place. That's "peace keeping".
