Is life worth it?

Well my life seems pretty fucked up right now. My wife left me, I lost my previous job of 3 years because the company ran out of money, got another job then lost that because I fucked up...

I'm feeling pretty pissed off and bitter about myself right now and am wondering if it's worth continuing. The only good thing that's happening is my TGP is finally starting to pick up and is making me money..

What do you all do when nothing is going right for you? Do you feel like just giving up or do you fight it?

Get drunk, that always helps.

Nah.. everyone has up's and downs. Just remember these times when you're back up, and you'll appreciate everything that much better.
Don't give up.

Well I do have 10 bottles of beer in the fridge still, I guess I could always go nuts on those huh?

It just seems like even though I'm trying my hardest to pick myself back up, life interjects and fucks me again. Just makes me wonder what it is I'm doing wrong.

3. BUST YOUR ASS on the TGP/ make come coin.
4. Find a hot little 18yr old to throw in your ex's face.

We all have problems at times, different ones, and the thing is if you can find strength and make it through, exist, and hang in there, then it's better than giving up. I hate to hear people give up.

It's only as bad as you let it be.

Just take each thing that you think is a negative and ask yourself what you could do to turn it into a positive.

As the ol' sayin' goes...

I know exactly where your coming from. It's part of the cycle of life. Ups and downs. Sucks, but it goes that way.

Let me share my story:

2000

I'm VP of a (then-) successful dot-com livin' large making a phat salary with stock options and a shitload of stock putting my net worth pretty high for a 27 year old. I'm traveling to Europe every month for work. I meet with porn companies even though we were a non-adult company. I fly first class, have a big ass expense account. I'm even planning to get engaged and married....basically livin' like a phat pimp. Oh...and my office is a mile from my house.

Fast forward a year

Then the economy tanked, I lost my job, got seriously injured, had to have surgery, was on cruches for six months, girlfriend left me, have to move out of my phat 16th floor apartment overlooking the SF Bay into a tiny ass "railroad" apt. There's no fucking jobs, so for the first time in my life, gotta go on the dole. Of course, unemployment doesn't go very far in SF....doesn't even cover half my rent. Basically shit sucked. Oh, and I lost nearly ALL my money in the stock market. What was left I spent supplmenting the shitty unemployment check I got.

Fast forward another year.....
Back working.....making decent loot....nothing like before....but my girlfriend is back, we're talking about marriage again. I look at porn half the day. My commute sucks (over 3 hours a day). But, all in all, I can't complain. Compared to that period between livin' like a phat pimp and now, helped me appreciate what I have.

I guess my point is, things are good, bad, in between, whatever....but I think everything happens for a reason. I think the reason I lost everything is because I became an arrogant little rich prick who thought $$$ was everything and would be there forever. I learned my lesson. Now I don't blow the little money I now have like I did before. And, I appreciate shit.

So hang in there bud...it will get better....always does.....

Oh, and if you're pulling a DearAbby (preying people's goodwill...remember the little thread about using the word "tard"?...I'll kill ya!! Don't think you are, but.........w/GFY ya never know.

So you lost 2 jobs and your wife left you. WTF? That happens to like 95% of all people, get some beer, or a hobby, hang out with some friends and fuck it.

Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Thanks for the support everyone I appreciate it. I'm not about to give up yet - I've just had those thoughts creeping into my head lately and I don't want that to happen. But as I say my TGP is finally picking up, im getting more hits per day and it's finally starting to pay for itself...

One of the things I'm pretty pissed off about is the ex-bitch is taking furniture at the end of the month and unfortunatly I cannot afford to replace it right away.. I guess I'll be sitting on the floor for awhile!

Look at it like this way.. there is no other way but to go up

Lifes a bitch and your only here for a short time anyway, so make the best of it.
you can get a new job
you can get a new girl
But all that matters is you have your Health

If you think you are beaten you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't;
If you want to win but think you can't;
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose you're lost;
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in a state of mind.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger and faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

Furniture is a small price to pay for peace and quiet.

When one of my ex's moved out three years ago I let her take whatever she wanted. TV, bed, extra bed for her kid, etc.

I basically kept what I had before I met her, which wasn't much. heh.

First day I came home from work after she left, I sat on the couch, and revelled in the quiet in my house for once.

It rocked. Best thing that ever happened.

THE MINIATURE EARTH.

If we could turn the population of the earth into a small community of 100 people, keeping the same proportions we have today, it would be something like this:

61 Asians
12 Europeans
14 Americans (from North and South America)
13 Africans
01 Australian (Oceania)

50 women
50 men

10 are homosexuals

33 are Christian (Catholics, Protestants and Orthodox)
18 are Muslims
16 are Hindus
16 are non-religious
6 are Buddhists
11 practice other religions

41 live without basic sanitation
16 live without an improved water source

6 people own 59% of the entire wealth of the community

13 are hungry or malnourished
14 can't read
only 7 are educated at a secondary level
only 8 have a computer
only 4 have an internet connection

1 adult, aged 15-49, has HIV/AIDS.

Of the village's total annual expenditures of just over US$ 3,000,000 per year:
US$ 181,000 is spent on weapons and warfare...
US$ 159,000 is spent on education...
US$ 132,000 is spent on health care.

If you keep your food in a refrigerator
And your clothes in a closet
If you have a roof over your head
And have a bed to sleep in
You are richer than 75% of the entire world population.

If you have a bank account
You're one of the 30 wealthiest people in the world.

25 struggle to live on US$ 1.00 per day or less...
47 struggle to live on US$ 2.00 per day or less.

Work with passion
Love without needing to be loved
Appreciate what you have
And do your best for a better world.

Everything is for a reason in life. You may not understand now why the shit hit you, but down the road you will look back and know why.

When one door closes a new one opens. There are 3 Billion women on this planet. Somewhere out there is your next one. Think of it as an adventure to find her and the process will be fun.

Everyone no matter how rich and powerful gets shit. Everyone. Look at Saddam. The motherfucker virtually owns an entire country, has a trillion dollar fortune he controls, can have anything he desires. And yet he is about to get it all taken away from him next week. Imagine the frustration of that. All that power he has and now its his turn to bend over and get fucking payback.

When I have gone and go through my shit periods I just accept them now. I know after every storm comes a rainbow. It never fails. Nothing lasts forever anyway, we are all merely the caretakers of our possessions while we are alive and here. After that someone else gets to care for them.

If you haven't traveled to a 3rd world country, do everything within your means to do so. We are so damned spoiled in this country it is pathetic. Travel to a place where they have no electricity, no phones, no clean water, no shopping malls, and then come back home and you'll realize no matter how bad your life here its great compared to the way most of the people live.

You most likely will eat 2 or 3 meals today. 1 Billion people will not even have a single morsel of food today. So no matter how bad you think you have it, its nothing compared to others.

And remember we are fortunate to all live in a FREE country, not in a repressive police state. Imagine living in a country like Iraq.

So smile, its all to make you stronger and wiser. And the sun always does come out from behind dark clouds and shines bright again.

when shit goes wrong, I go back to the roots...

I sleep, and I spend lots of time with my friends...

and I drive... I drive for a while, think about it.....

then I go gamble, I loose money, and I'm like fuck it... time to get back to work... I could of won, but I didn't... need to make it back up

One of the best approaches to dealing with depression (which you obviously have) is to DO SOMETHING. Get out and knock on more doors for a job. Work on current projects. Ignore the advice to get involved with someone else. A depressed person does not need the pressures of relationship. Aside from setting yourself up for more pain, it's not fair to the other person to come to them when you are depressed and needy and "on the rebound."

Fight it bro, no matter how difficult it seems. You WILL end up winning. I hate to sound all "preachy", but you can accomplish anything you set off to do as long as your prepared for the ups & downs.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the support. No I'm not going to give up - I doubt I could ever kill myself even if I wanted to. After reading some of the stories here, I realized that I'm not alone with the problems that I've been experiencing lately.

It just pisses me off because even though you try to live a decent and honest life, bad things still happen to you. I guess that's life in a nutshell huh?

I guess the only thing I can do now is to pick up the pieces and move on as best I can. At least I will have spare time now to concentrate on my sites, I guess. As I said, my TGP is finally starting to pick up and make money. Not much, but enough to cover the rent every month, so I guess that's something right?

Anyhow, I'm sorry to hear you all have similar problems. I hope that luck comes your way eventually. I've had pretty good luck so far up until now, so you never know what will happen.

Be thankful you dont have any childern...imagine having to deal with an ex an having her suck a good portion of your earnings away from you. Things could be worse.

Whenever i get down in dumps i always try to concentrate on the good, and remember when ya down things can only go up

Good luck

Oh fuck yeah I'm so fucking glad that we never had kids. We actually talked about it too. At least I'm not burdened with that hardship..

the worst thing for a man is giving up. Just keep trying hard and things will pick for sure, just stay focused on your goal

It's not worth it. I just want it to end most of the time. Fuck it all anyway.

Accept that there will be good times and bad times. Know that, as long as you are alive, you have a chance to change your future.

You never know why things happen. Maybe the extra time on your site will ensure you don't have to count on another job. Maybe you'll find that 18-year-old since the another chick left.

Uhmm, sounds like you've got quite an opportunity ahead of you. Only you can make a difference.
