Does anyone still make money out of TGP sites?

I'm curious whether TGP sites are still profitable for their owners,
or are they mainly becoming "zombie" sites, with decreasing traffic and lower conversions?

I think you will hear crickets.

But now that jmbsoft has opensourced their software, you might see more.

I don't think traffic on TGP's is anywhere near what it was years ago but doesn't mean you can't still convert on them. For instance I'm getting some good traffic from my top list which is an ancient way of corralling the masses. I say give the TGP a shot ...then report back with your findings!

really depends on how you're working it.. lots of tgp guys just sold off, so a lot of good ones 'disappeared overnight'

Short answer no. Unless you set your sites very low.

Not if you use the "traditional" approach: blind traffic, skimming, fhg's on top, popunders,... On the other hand, this approach never worked for me anyways.
I have 1 tgp running, 100% clean, no skimming, no popups. Feeding it quality traffic in the correct niche: it converts great!
Need a VPS? I use Ramnode, great uptime, friendly support and only $62/year (after their lifelong coupon) for an openVZ VPS => [email protected], 512Mb ram, 512 Mb swap, 120 Gb SSD, 1Gbps port, 2 Tb bandwith, 1 IPv4, 16 IPv6, weekly backups
