Well, you can laugh if you wish but I can tell you that my father was a believer and it gave him a tremendous comfort when his time came. He died in peace, so there is truly a place for religion for some. It sure helped my dad.

Religion is good in that it gives a bond for otherwise old or lonely people to meet. Yes, it does give comfort to people who are dying, nothing wrong with that.
Like being knocked out and waking up over a passage of time that feels like a blink of an eye, so I believe when your final breath passes. Peaceful nothingness, nothing wrong with that.Comment

If I ever make it to a point where I die of old age in a bed -- I know it's going to suck because I'm aware of the fact that nothing happens after you die. Your carcass decomposes and you cease to exist. The only thing that comforts me in the possibility I could live an eternity in an awesome dream that happens the second before I die.
