love the dof! i think the focused background actually makes the girl pop more. almost like a green screen effect.

I shoot at F16-F20... member request, using light correctly you can achieve separation just as well if not better than with shallow DOF

my 60mm macro goes there, i can get useable images at up to 6400 iso too, i've been experimenting in that range, takes practice for me! the exposures change so much if i move even a little bit.

of course, I ALWAYS use the same settings within reason... I use a consistent protocol because there are so many issue around the models that I need NOT to think about the camera and lights... been shooting at 200 iso, F16 at 160th... meter at 320 iso 125th

the blue sky is increased in post, sun camera right, strobe camera left at F11.4, key over my right shoulder at F16, I use umbrellas... I allow 1/3 of stop for the model to wander around her mark, but always under, not over if possible. so I'll set the light at F16 about 18 inches in front of the model.

model posing is more important than photography within reason.... as long as the captures aren't incompetent or distracting with shadows or burned skin, the close up's crystal clear and a few fetish poses everything is fine...

setting the camera up with a protocol allows me to focus all my energy on the model... remember I've been shooting since the mid 90's with film, then went digital July 2002, and since then I've shot 100's of thousands of images, I know what's important and what's not. (what sells and what doesn't)
