I do not think that they announced a conference...I think it was one of Zimmerman's attorneys. When Zimmerman's attorney found out what had happened...and it wasn't through Zimmerman BTW...he apparently asked the family if they would hold a conference...probably in the hopes of improving Zimmerman's image to the public. With the media's iffy track record of twisting one's words or failing to report accurately about what someone meant by their words etc, and the black community's propensity for reprisals in cases such as these where "one of their own" has, in their view, been unjustly treated by a trial's outcome, well...

I dont want to disagree with you on this but I will.
Not long ago someone stole the spare tire from under my truck at a local shopping mall. It is Now well known that if you want to keep your spare you don't park a truck in that parking lot. I know for a fact that I could go, catch the guys doing it and end it. Its something I have done before and dont lose sleep over. But... I have a son now. he is 8 and I have to think of what can happen to him. So, I bought a new tire and decided not to park my truck there. Has nothing to do with being a coward. Has to do with knowing what fights to pick and what fights to walk away from.
These people walked away from a potential mess that could cause harm to their kids and that is NOT cowardice its intelligent.
