Trick for making Juicy Ads more attractive?
I was just on one of my sites and I see my row of six Juicy Ads has 4 of the same ad and they are all cartoons and assorted crap.
Does anyone know of a way to make Juicy Ads look better, like not so redundant and maybe some pics of girls instead? I have blocked a bunch of ads but it does no good. This is why my CTR with PlugRush is astronomically higher than Juicy Ads. I just leave them there in the hopes someone will buy the space really. Nobody clicks on this crap.

Thats really a loose loose. its a loss for you as that one guy wont click the same banner wasting that add view and bad for the banner buyer as i am sure they pay multiple for that impression. I don't know Jays system well but it would be good to have a variable to not show the same add 2x it may even be there.

I'm assuming you're running 6 separate adzones.
Switch to ONE adzone with 6 ads to get 6 unique ads. If you're already doing this, give me a shout at [email protected] so I can check the targeting, but I suspect this should solve your problem. I've been working on Formula3 (new optimization) which hasn't launched yet. |

Thanks for the reply Jay. It is one adzone. It's a new site that I'm just starting to drive traffic to because I like your network. The problem is I want to build up the views in the hopes of selling ads direct, but I don't want to show these on my sites that get uniques in the tens of thousands because they are so ugly. It's kind of a chicken and egg situation. I'll shoot you an email with the URL of the site I am testing them on.

There is no trick. There ads are god aweful. I make 10 times with exoclick in 1 month then with them lol. Why people use them is beyond me for publishers.

Regardless, I'm very excited about Formula3 which should change this for a variety of reasons ;) I've been working on it for some time, the current optimization has been in place for several years and I expect the new one to deliver higher revenues for our advertisers and publishers. Also keep in mind we are a performance network. That means we don't charge for every impression. We believe advertisers should have the choice between CPC and CPM and actually making profit from their ad spend. Its very common to see the adzones from certain ad networks at the bottom of websites, where advertisers are often being completely ripped off. It happens to all networks, but most times this is wasted advertising spend that only benefits the publishers. We have many Publishers that earn more with us than anyone else, that's why they are with us. That's obviously not your case right now, but in the future we would love to beat your current eCPMs and earn you more. I know and understand that its all about who is going to capitalize best for you. Hope everyone had a good hump day. Out. |

Jay, is there any near-future hope for the improvements we were discussing a few months back for improving the painful interface for blocking the low-quality network ads? Or even going totally opt-in for publishers like me that want that?

I only recently returned to coding the JuicyAds platform in the last few months after being unavailable for some time for personal reasons, as told to XBIZ in the recent article. Forkbeard, I will say, has been responsible for suggestion of many improvements to the platform. |

Sweet! Looking forward to the upgrades.
Oh, and for folks who didn't make the connection -- if you use the blocking interface heavily enough, you can block out the most unappealing ads, which will indeed make your ad blocks more visually appealing. But it's a lot of work at present and requires a ton of hands-on maintenance. There are some very attractive ads in the network ads pool but they are currently heavily outnumbered by the grotesque cartoon dicks and animated humping line art. |
