how much for the short UIN?

max.yambo 03-06-2003 07:44 AM

Hello,

If you have a business running in an offshore jurisdiction you do not really work inside the U.S. Your business is in a different country and your taxes have to be paid in the different country. IRS has nothing to do with business running in BVI or Caymans, does not it? IRS can only request the information about your business, but most of the jurisdiction would not disclose such info to anybody including IRS.

Furthermore, you would not want to register an offshore company in your name, would you? That would have been just stupid. Most jurisdiction offer nominee directors. That makes you invisible for IRS.

If only real crime is involved in your business - IRS will find you. But that's different issue.

Serge_Oprano 03-06-2003 07:58 AM

Max,
be a good sport and tell us how you pay taxes to Ukraine, or do you hope they'll never find you?

you mislead US Taxpayers and lead them to a slaughter.

I know it,
you know it.

I care about people in this industry,
and you don't give a flying fuck.

freeme 03-06-2003 09:43 AM

It seees the only thing yambo is interested in is their UPFRONT payment

BEWARE of anyone asking for money upfront for a deal that sounds too good

For a start you are 100% wrong. For some reason a US citizen is still liable for US tax even if he/she works, lives and pays taxes in another country.

Serge_Oprano 03-06-2003 10:33 AM

Tipsy,
100% correct

The main problem with Yambo is that it uses mastercard. The major card companies are now handing over account information from offshore banks to the IRS, fucking us all. I'd imagine it wouldn't really be a problem if they just gave, say, a cirrus card like alot of them do.

doesn't cirrus belong to mastercard ?

No clue, but other offshore banks I've seen using them claim that the card has no personal information tied to it. Something to look into though.

It may happen if you register your offshore business in your name. But nobody would do that.

Begs the question.. should ad space providers have to police their advertisers? On some big ad space providers (say.. Yellow Pages) that could be quite a daunting task.. Why should that be different with the internet?

WebDork 03-27-2003 01:36 AM

Some of you guys need to get some advice from an accountant :)

On a personal note, I did investigate the taxation ramifications, and am pleased to say I am a very happy customer of Yambo and have been for a little while.

Mind you I have my doubts about the Ruskies too - so until they have a longer track record my money comes out almost as soon as it goes in from a Sponsor, via Maestro or Mastercard through an ATM rather than sit in an account.

Then just put the cash back into a safety deposit box and your away... Minimum risk - maximum tax benefit.
