I'm glad we live in a society where a few good people do more than "call the police and do nothing more." Unfortunately, it's still too few.

Yeah, if Trayvon Martin had been beating the fuck out of young woman on the street and GZ had called the police and stayed in his car...people would be screaming for his head.

The situation obviously escalated out of control...but to suggest that people do nothing when their homes are being broken into in a community is just dumb.

And what use is Neighborhood Watch if they just sit in a car and call police? They are supposed to be out of the car in view of any potential thieves as a deterrent.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think TM deserved to die. He was just a typical teen male.

But shit happens. That's why parents are so scared whenever their kids are out of their sight As a parent I remember all the dumb shit I did, and it scares the hell out of me that my kids will do the same stupid things that can get them killed.

I won't let my kids walk the streets after dark. Of course, 17 years old made Trayvon a man. (not legally...but he was a man). You just can't tell a 17 year old that they aren't "allowed" to walk the streets. At 17 he would be driving if he had a car. So that doesn't work.

I guess it's a miracle that any of us make it past our youth. I look back and wonder how I didn't get killed myself.

Zimmerman was a wannabe police officer. He was just about to graduate with his little degree in criminal justice, had applied to be a police officer, and was training at a martial arts gym. He armed himself and joined the neighborhood watch - Self appointed sheriff, no requirements, no rules, no supervision. Zimmerman is nothing more than a douchebag who wanted to be a police officer so bad it made his panties wet.

Zimmerman handled this poorly from the start, and there are too many inconsistencies that don't add up:

• Why didn't he identify himself as the neighborhood watch from the start?
• Why did Zimmerman get out of his truck - to get a street name when there is only three streets?
• Zimmerman claims he was punched 25 times and had his head beat on the pavement, yet the photos indicate he was only punched once or twice?
• Did Martin jump out from behind the bushes and surprise Zimmerman, or did Zimmerman walk towards Martin - because within twenty-four hours Zimmerman claimed both.
• Zimmerman was part of the Neighborhood Watch who's job is work with police - Why didn't Zimmerman listen when the police told him they didn't need him to follow the suspect.
• How did Zimmerman pull out his firearm him from underneath them from under his jacket while Martin was on top of him hitting him?

Zimmerman handled this poorly from the very start. But that's exactly what you get when you have your neighborhood watch untrained and armed and tell them to protect us from the bad guys.

Yes, and 911 still says stay in your car.. They say that to Everyone so they can not be sued.

I called 911 on a pimp beating his girl, pulling her into the car, and driving a few feet each time with her dragging half out of the car. They said it would be about 8-11 minues before police arrived on my 3rd call as it was getting worse and worse, and I was to watch from a distance.. As soon as I went over there, the pussy pimp let her go and drove off.

You said in an earlier post that you worry and envision in your mind that your daughter could be Trayvon Martin.

I asked you to envision that your daughter was in George Zimmerman's place and had an athletic 17 year old male beating the shit out of her.
Would you want your daughter to just lie there and get beaten as you say GZ should have done...or would you want her to shoot him?

I think he's saying that 911 always tells people to not interfere so they don't get sued.

1 Always patrol in pairs, may it be ON FOOT or in a vehicle.

I said earlier that he shouldn't have been alone or in his car. He should have had a partner and they should have been on foot to be most effective. Seeing neighborhood watch is a great deterrent. Riding in his truck with no visible identification on the vehicle or on his clothing that he was neighborhood watch was not very smart of GZ

8 Do not under any consideration confront suspicious individuals or vehicles. You have no idea who you may be dealing with. Observe from a distance and call it in to 911.

From what we know from court testimony...GZ was observing. He never confronted TM. He followed him and watched where he was going. And he had already called it in.

Except that is not what happened either. "You don't have to do that" is not the same as "do not do that."

Was he actually "on patrol" or did he just happen to run across TM when he was out and about? I don't recall how they happened to cross paths.

You know what that kind of evidence is called? "Circumstantial evidence".

It has very little weight in trials because anything can be taken out of context and bent to suit one's purpose.

So reading that I can assume Martin was a wanna-be gangsta, angry at the world and looking to lash out, so when he saw Zimmerman following him he found a smaller, weaker man to take out his rage on.

Just like you assume that Zimmerman was a blood-thirsty vigilante simply because he was interested in the law.

That's the problem with circumstantial evidence.

And I know, the judge did not allow that circumstantial evidence to be heard, but it's funny how that puts Martin in quite a different light.

If his family sues Zimmerman for wrongful death, all of this will be admissible as evidence in a civil trial.

If they don't sue, this will most likely be the reason why.

Obama is trying to get his DOJ to find some way to file charges of a racially motivated crime on GZ's part.

Now keep in mind that Zimmerman NEVER used Stand Your Ground as a defense.

I doubt the DOJ will take it; there is too much evidence that the trial court did not allow. There is nothing to be gained.

Yep, that would explain why he was alone and in his vehicle instead of with a partner patrolling the street.
