    Cupid offloads sites

Not sure if this has already been posted but it's interesting news.

The Aim-quoted company has offloaded sites including Benaughty.com, Flirt.com and WildBuddies for £45.1m, as these ?can lead into areas of adult content, which Cupid has tried to avoid?.

The deal with Grendall Investment allows Cupid to focus on ?mainstream? sites including Cupid.com, LoveAgain.com and UniformDating.com, which is aimed at uniformed services personnel such as firefighters, nurses, and those in the armed forces and police.

Grendall is managed by Max Polyakov, who still owns 15pc of Cupid after co-founding the business in 2005 with current chief executive Bill Dobbie.

Mr Dobbie said Monday?s deal is a ?significant positive step for the group?. In a statement, his company added: ?Cupid believes that in mainstream dating, customers are demanding increasingly higher quality and that this can be a rewarding area for the company to focus its efforts.

I didn't know they owned UniformDating - Its advertised heavily on TV here...

I wonder how they are going to organize the affiliate side - As the new owner is still part owner of Cupid (if am following this correctly) maybe they won't do anything.....

It's an interesting move, what is more interesting is the language that indicates a possible expansion of the adult content linked to some of the sites offloaded.

Interested to see if their offloaded sites' conversions will change at all.

I don't get it. Would people choose to date worse person than better just because he/she works with uniform? I mean they limit themselves from someone who is/may be better date just without uniform job.
Like there are 1000 candidates in your town and only 50 of them are uniforms. why limit yourself to the pool of 50 just because you like uniforms?
                      Sounds really stupid to me.
