3D TV will take a VERY long time to adapt IMO

A prototype is an early sample or model built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.

It's just there must be a bit more programs with quality real 3d content. For now many just converts 2d stuff to 3d which is not the way. We need more people to start actually shooting in stereoscopic 3d.

This is true for Hollywood too. James Cameron says Hollywood is not using 3D properly

The 2D to 3D conversions are a waste of time IMO be it porn or hollywood.

All DeepVisions content is shot in "stereoscopic 3d" Real 3D.

3d gives me a headache

Meh... once or twice a year the 3DTV hype cycle unveils some new device that's supposedly going to break the industry wide open, and it always is underwhelming & disappears within 6 months. This has been happening for over 20 years now.

To really get quality sellable 3D going you'd have to have all films/programming conceive & write their content with 3D in mind, have it explicitly produced & filmed for such, and have delivery mechanisms that are easy, convenient & don't suck. This is a long long way from happening.

Thing is, even the major motion picture companies haven't figured it out in the theater. The glasses dim & dull the picture, you basically sacrifice a ton of image clarity for the illusion of depth, usually in action scenes that are too chaotic and quick-cutting to fully utiliize that feature. Majority of 3D movies I see, end up wishing I'd just watched them in 2D instead - until a multi-billion $$$ industry manages to put out a quality 3D product, I won't hold my breath for it at home.

On top of that it's not like the consumer is clamoring for 3D. A great show or movie is a great show or movie even in 2D, who watches & says "that was really good but it could've used an extra dimension in there"? There's a reason why in photography 3D holograms aren't in high demand despite being possible for many decades - once the novelty factor's worn off, 2D serves the purpose for 99.999% of the population.

So yeah, quality home 3D isn't happening anytime soon.

Real 3D is a niche no disputing that. Dolby is selling licenses to all the TV manufactures, they are not making TVs just selling the rights to the technology. And yes it will take a long time just like getting color TVs in the home and HD. It still will only be a niche, a cool one IMO.
