he grew fields of the stuff.

but you know what? behind every great man is a great lady and that lady is clara ford.

every day henry would come home from the factory clara would have a big, fat bowl waiting for him.

clara was a hip hip lady.

I'm all for legalization and know hemp has a ton of industrial applications (to say nothing of alternate fuel sources), but that poster is just oversimplified propaganda. IMO it actually works against the cause by being so exaggerated, the only people it's getting all hot & bothered are hemp activitists themselves.

my cousins are licenced medical marijuana growers who also grow "industrial" hemp, the medical stuff makes money but they are limited to the number of plants they can grow. they usually make more money on the industrial hemp, selling it as material for novelty clothes and foods (like candy, drinks, etc).

Not illegal, just extremely over regulated. Took about 5 years to get the licenses.

Also, in June the amendment to the Farm Bill to legalize industrial hemp in the US was voted in by the House. So there's a congressional majority in favor.

Unfortunately the Farm Bill itself didn't pass, so it was rendered moot. Still it's just a matter of time, probably a very short time too. I see legalization within the year, would be surprised if it took any longer than that.

After Kentucky decided not to use privately owned prisons. I guess there will be less of a push to keep it illegal. However I think more states will need to follow the lead first.

He was also a complete nutjob who believed the Jews were destroying the world, a big admirer and crony of Hitler's. He bought and ran a newspaper at great expense just to expose the Jew menace. All of his knowledge about the Jews came from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a masterpiece of conspiracy crackpottery which even while Ford was plagiarizing it in his newspaper had already been exposed as a complete forgery of a forgery of a forgery of what started out as a book of satire by a French writer.

You can't take away his genius for business and industry but he was also an ignorant uneducated imbecile. Ford sued the Chicago Tribune for libel, they had published an editorial calling him what he was, a kook, an anarchist and a danger. The Tribune's lawyer had no problem getting Ford to reveal the truth about himself in front of the entire country, a pathetic old fool, albeit a rich and powerful one.

Lawyer: You call yourself an educator. Now I shall inquire whether you were a well informed man, competent to educate people
Lawyer:Have there ever been any revolutions in this country?
Henry Ford:There was, I understand.
Lawyer:When?
Henry Ford:In 1812.
Lawyer: Did you ever hear of Benedict Arnold?
Henry Ford:I have heard the name.
Lawyer:Who was he?
Henry Ford:I have forgotten just who he is. He is a writer; I think.

it was a pop culture reference to the hit movie dazed & confused. i guess nobody got the pun. i substituted henry and clara for george and martha and used the dialogue from the film as best i could recall it on the fly. (it wouldn't have worked if i used george and martha)

you should check it out, it's very funny, if you like funny movies, that is.

Ahh.... right. Forgot that Ford was all about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion... before Hitler even knew about it.
