In fact, lots of business goes on outside of GFY entirely. I know for myself, even with PM's, it'll still be quicker to contact me via email, ICQ, skype or telephone as I only check the boards every few days, sometimes only once a week.

However, this does one thing that has been sorely missed here -- allowing actual business people to reach out to one another privately without the general membership knowing what they are interested in or what their respective strategies are.

You get mail notification when you get PM,so getting PM is almost same as getting mail.Plus advantage of it,you can use it if you dont want to expose your mail.Same as you can use paypal when you dont want to expose your credit card number :)

Ahh, ok, thanks. I was not sure how the notifications would. Some boards have popups only, some just put a little number next your inbox assuming you will notice it, and others email.

You may need to go to your profile and edit the options...

Under the private messaging options the checkboxes for email and for popup notifications were not checked by default on my profile, so I had to enable those and save the options.
