    Do You Ever Buy Domains And Forget About Them?

    Just got a renewal reminder for close to 40 domains I registered last year that I totally forgot about.

    Originally I had a use for them, I recall now what it was but for some reason I lost track of that specific project.

    Now to figure out if I want to spend the $ on renewals to keep them or let them expire

          Forgot about them? No. But we have about 100 domains that were supposed to be used for a lot of different things but have yet to see the light of day... So fucking hard to find reliable help these days.

              Never forgotten any, but after getting some needed sleep I've been known to look over 3-4AM "brilliant" purchases and go, "What the hell?"

                      I try to delegate newly registered domains to my own name servers so they're right there in front of me. Occasionally I forget, and only realise months later that they're sitting in my registrar account doing nothing.

                                      When you have thousands of domains, it definitely happens. I had once bought a domain off Afternic (normally don't do that but it was a killer deal on a 1995 reg video related name). It was at a piece of shit registrar I never dealt with. Never got any emails from them when expiration came and only found out a couple months later I had lost it. Worst few hundred bucks I ever spent considering that.

                                                      Not as much now, but it still happens here and there. When I used to own a few thousand domains it happened every month.

                                                                              I actually bought 31 .coms so far strictly to set up as niche hosted tubes, mainly for hard links but they are slowly increasing in revenue as well.

                                                                                          Always transfer them to my main registar, can be done automaticly by them on a certain date. They sent every day an email with the domains that must be renewed the next 30 days and how long i have to renew them and the cost per domain.

                                                                                                  no because I have a word document listing them all and their date of expiration, but what I do is I have an idea and I believe that I'm being smart so I register the domain, and one day or two later I think, what a shit I made, this is so bad, so now I made a promise to stop registering domains. I already have enough.

I've set up one or two and didn't start pushing them for a while. I always figure a 3 day old .com with a post count of like 2000 is a little shady. I don't think there is anything bad against domain age in any way
