PayPal president is fascinated by Bitcoin, says company is ?thinking about? including the virtual cu

If paypal accepts Bitcoin, that means that people will be able to buy a lot of things with their bitcoin... including everything at ebay.

Source: http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/0...tual-currency/

The major problem I see is that it will make it very hard to control illegal activities, including commercial content piracy.

Just imagine if file lockers begin to accept bitcoins, and if its very easy for anyone to log into his paypal account, buy some bitcoin using his paypal balance, then send that bitcoin to the file locker.

Bitcoin exchanges are already losing their bank accounts, http://bitfloor.com. Putting money in and taking out will always require a bank. Its seems DOTreasury, the FEDS and others are waking up to bitcoin. Place to attack illegal activity will be at the bank level. Not hard to do it seems.

Paypal I am sure will wait to see what happens. Bitcoins a cool idea, just people involved are ????

This is comedy gold. These kind of troll statements from PayPal are hyping up bitcoins, driving the prices up. Obviously nothing's gonna come out of bitcoins, so the next time it crashes again it's gonna be hilarious watching all the idiots losing their life savings and committing mass suicide.

If an illegal site accepts bitcoins, then the site owners fund their paypal account using the bitcoins and withdraw it to their bank account, how can this be blocked at the bank level?

Paypal won't know where those bitcoins are coming from, nor any bank... the bitcoin transaction removes the link between the illegal site and paypal/bank.

Ask the fellers at bitfloor. Their bank in the US already shut their shit down.

I worked at a company years ago that was audited by the GAO as we were a FED contractor. They do not throw their hands up and go, "Golly, gee, where did that money go and where did it come from?" Must be magic or something. Oh, well, I guess we'll never know."

Bitcoin may be a cool thing but banks aren't going to roll over.

not going to happen. Paypal with their regulations and bitcoin with lack of them seem like two opposite sides of payment business.

Banks are actually starting to work with Bitcoin.
Could it be there is another reason than just bitcoin that he got shut down?
Why do people who know nothing about bitcoin whatsoever keep flooding the forum with false information?

If they do work something out you will have no sites to push as they will all be available for free.

Bitfloor lost their bank account because they were exchanging currencies without following regulations. Not because they were doing business with criminals.

So my original point still stands. Paypal follows regulations. Please don't mix things up.

Bitcoin crashes, still has doubled since April first. The comedy gold is the people telling us the big crash is coming for the last 4 years.

Why can't it happen? Paypal is known to work with pirates. They were processing for file lockers not so long ago. If they find a way to work with them again without damaging their brand, they will do it.

And if they work out with Bitcoins, they will be able to process for the big file locker market again, without damaging their brand, since there will be no proof that they actually process with them.

I mean anonymous payments will move money from adult paysites (30 usd/month/site) to pirate sites (30 usd / 3 months / all adult and mainstream movies ever created).

I think Paypal will never collaborate with bitcoin. They are biggest scammers online. Paypal sucks.
