Anybody try this stuff? According to a news story, it's supposed to be as powerful as LSD but lasts only and hour or so. It's a naturally growing herb in Mexico, and legal to buy (for now). Usually smoked, nobody knows the long term effects but it appears safe.

I haven't done any soft drugs since college (over a decade ago), but thought this story was intriguing. Pass the bong !

stuff is FUCKED up... way differnt than a trip and a lot shorter. Somtimes more intense. Tastes like burning tires though and is kinda expensive unless you buy in bulk. Go for the extract and not the leaves if you want to try it.

Felt like a giant vacuum was sucking me down the hall and out of my house. Once I got outside I realised I handnt left my chair and I was being crushed by an invisable weight. Time meant nothing.

Although It might have been the effects of the marketing, you never know!

I tried this (and many other things) years ago, and I will tell you Salvia Divinorum is not for casual use, or even "recreational" use.

It's not even remotely like LSD, nor is it even halfway pleasurable to most people. I'd put it in a category that would include DMT or AMT as far as intensity and "recreation factor" goes. If you don't know what those are, you should likely shy away from Salvia.

It's not really for the faint of heart.

Although, I will say.. if you want to break up a frat party really fast.. Break out a "Joint" of salvia.... Oops, looks like it's time to go!

the other two are cyrstals that are grown or synthesised.

Salvia Divinorum is a plant that grows naturally and was often used by shamens.

i've tried it, I had the 10x strand. the "high" lasts about 3-4 mintues and you sweat a shit load. you trip hardcore too. better be sitting down when you try it

It's a complete and total disassociation with self and time...the actual rush is like 2 - 4 minutes although a friend of mine laughed for about 10 minutes straight...to the point that he felt scared he'd laugh himself to death.

we had a 30 times extract I believe and I cannot imagine a "bongload" of it...its an "experience" if you're into that type of thing...but as far as casually sitting around puffing it...not a chance. You're likely to cause a rip in your own personal time space fabric...

On a second note...did anyone else have a distinct feeling of a clockwise turning...me an my fellow psychonauts of yore always felt as if we were in a tornado or something always turning in a clockwise direction...

From what ive heard smoking it isnt quite going to get you high since the shit needs to be burned at a higher heat to release whatever it is that gets you high.

I've looked into this stuff on a couple of different websites which sell the stuff. Go search on google if you want to get more info on it.

I Tried 6x extract 3 weeks ago,

I smoked a small pipe bowl full.

I immediately felt as though I was being pulled out of my body backwards and up.

Very radical alteration of perception, time, space and reality as a whole.

I felt as though I was a blob of energy in a universe of energy in different shapes and sizes.

I've taken Lsd, Ecstacy and Shrooms many times when I was younger. But this was nothing like the those trips.

I did not feel happy or high with Salvia, I felt as though i was in a alternate dimension with full mental facilites.

Your sense of balance gets really fucked up though.
Almost like being really drunk.

This plant is a personal trip.
You do not want to be at a party and do this stuff.

Take a few close friends with you and do it, if you are going to.
Make sure one of you is sober.

Trip lasted about 3-4 mins for me and was very intense, then slowly wore off.

I bought 1 gram for $35 USd and I used about 1/20 of the gram to get the effect.

Don't cancel your order. Salvia rules! Only thing I dont like is the taste and how hard you have to hit it. Get a torch lighter and it shouldn't be such a chore to get the effects.

Smoked 6 bowls of 10x in a row once, tripped for hours. It was great, after the total disassocation from each bowl would wear off, things would still be morphing and flowing and all that good stuff. I'd look at a pattern in the carpet and watch it for a half hour. It was like watching TV in the carpet. I saw war movies, cartoons, all that good stuff

its not for an hour, learn your drugs, and it wont be illegal,

SALVIA is related to a stran of pepermint thats why,
the high is for round 15 min,
and the drug is non addictive,

effects:

powerful open and closed eye visuals
general change in consciousness (as with most psychoactives)

Salvia is unscheduled in the United States meaning it is legal to possess and sell. The federal Analog Act generally requires chemicals be chemically similar to another scheduled substance to qualify . As Salvinorin is chemically very different from any scheduled substance it is unlikely to be targeted under that act. Salvia divinorum has been added to a list of controlled plants in Australia as of June, 2002.

Onset

I orderred some 5x extract and thinking it'd do nothing (had tried the standard stuff), put it in a bong and huffed down two big hits and it fucked me up!

Its weird I did it a few times I'd do it again but I have given up all drugs.
Just be carefull, do a hit at a time and I'd do it sitting down and probably best to have some friends around in to stop you in case you decide to do something dumb.

Its not a party drug, most people probably would not find it something they want to do again but some people like just experience of being in a different state of mind rather than getting a buzz on might find it interesting.

what sort of statement is that. Everyone reacts differently to any drug, and just because some people trip for 3 or 4 minutes, doesn't mean others will trip for hours, and or possibly suffer psychological damage from this stuff.

Read Spanno's post. That and some others have given the best advice.
