Great talent lost.

mikesinner 06-19-2013 06:31 PM

Sopranos is one of my top 25 or so favorite TV series of all time. Sad to see him go so young. He had a lot more to offer the world.

BlackCrayon 06-19-2013 06:47 PM

you've got wonder if he ignored previous warning signs or what. too damn young!!

That is way cool, baddog. I guess that moment of meeting James Gandolfini will have a bigger meaning to you now. You look like you made him laugh. Cheers to you.

Lester Burnham 06-19-2013 07:23 PM

RIP.

With that said, he likely ate and drank himself to the grave. He was a big guy and he just got bigger...

The Porn Nerd 06-19-2013 07:36 PM

Being a Jersey boy this hurts especially bad.

RIP Jimmy.

Why when somebody dies do other people feel compelled to find and attach blame to the deceased? Methinks it's people who are afraid of death and if they can find any physical or lifestyle difference between themselves and the deceased they grab onto that difference to reassure themselves that the same fate won't befall them.

I have to admit; usually when I hear about some celeb dying I do not really care one way or the other. This time, I actually felt sorrow, then was happy when I read it was a hoax, followed by disappointment when I saw a news clip on the TV that was playing in the background that said it was fact. One less follower to my blog.

I am the only one in the thread who mentioned his weight versus mine, that was made pondering he was only 12 days younger than me. I do know that my health choices doesn't guarantee me not meeting his same fate tomorrow, many people better fit and much younger die of heart attacks but I also know that controlling my weight moved me from pre-diabetic to normal numbers and my overall health has benefitted tremendously, and quality of life for me has been more enjoyable and important than quantity of life.:upsidedow

I do feel confident that lifestyle choices have saved me from the fate of so many of my friends. Too many folks from my punk rock club days died from heroin or other drugs, while I only ever did weed with/without them. Lost some or are suffering health to hard alcohol while I have always been a moderate beer and occasional wine drinker. I'm gay and have lost the majority of my best gay friends to AIDS, they used to rib me for being too picky hopelessly romantic and safe while they were hopelessly promiscius.

I'm not afraid of death, everybody important in my life other than my mom and best friend are on the other side.:stoned

Horrible news, Rest in Peace, Sir! :( :pimp

Diomed 06-19-2013 11:27 PM

Was a sweetheart of a man, and will be sadly missed.

He did a lot of charity work and always practiced a sound sense of empathy with people who were going through difficult times.

Was one of the few people on tv who really spoke about hurricane Katrina the way victims felt it. Not to mention his wounded soldier campaign's, etc.

Sad stuff.

Poppy 06-19-2013 11:45 PM

I'm in the same boat. I watched all, what is it, 86 episodes? 90? I forget, but I watched them last year consecutively start to finish, and definitely feel like I lost someone I know. One can only imagine what his son feels like right now, having been on vacation with him when it happened.

Plus I'm just a year younger than the guy. It hits home.

I think I'll stop by the doc's next week and get my BP checked. :D

RIP Mr Soprano.

I had cousin, his dream was to go to Italy. All his life it was his dream. He and his wife go for his 50th birthday. They get off the plane,go to the room. He says Im tired, goes to take a nap. He never woke up. It was a nightmare getting him back to America.

A lot of times the first indicator of a problem is a fatal heart attack.

Take care of yourselves.
