Oh well.

Very creepy and atmospheric. Shows everything in the movie, but doesn't spoil it, and without a single word of dialogue. I think it would have scared the shit out of me if I'd seen it in a cinema in 1979.

If only whoever put that together ^^^^^ had made the full movie.

Every other trailer looks and sounds the same to me.

Ha. I love it when people get straight to the point like that. Doesn't look anything special to me, the movie or the trailer. Superman is also by far the most boring superhero. His super-power is that he can do anything and is indestructible. Yawn.
Agreed. Prometheus was a killer trailer as well.

I like the latest Man of Steel trailer with lots of Zodd in it better.

Nolan backed movies always have great trailers. The Batman Reboot trailers were all awesome. I also went insane on the Abrams Star Trek 2009 reboot trailer; that was bad ass ("Fire everything!!!!!")

According to scientists, it has a high chance of having liquid water under all that nice thanks to tidal forces of Jupiter. Woo!
Looked like 100 other movies to me (including Prometheus). And what is it with some character going somewhere, saying "Are you guys getting this", being ominously told to return, ignoring it (cos they're top scientists on an expensive mission so they have to behave recklessly) and sticking their face/hand/cock into whatever alien life form they find, followed by *scream*. Maybe it's just edited like that though.

Sunshine is a good, intelligent science fiction movie, at least for about the first hour or so, before it unfortunately descends into a boring 'alien'-on-board-picking-people-off kinda thing.

        PROMETHEUS:
What a piece of shit. TERRIBLE movie. Just freakin' awful from start to finish. Oh and the freaking trailer SHOWS THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE. Dumbasses.
The trailer didn't spoil the movie, the movie the spoiled the trailer.

The Original 300 trailer WAS, in fact, The Best Movie Trailer Ever, which coincidentally-ish is the topic of this thread!!!!!

Too bad the original 300 movie was not that good of a movie.

Him and his brother are the most talented writer/director in the industry IMO

Also really looking forward to his latest film Interstellar (2014)

I'd love to see them create a HBO TV Series!

It's very hard to get a very good science fiction movie these days

We're lucky if we get one good one every year, I think the last one that I really enjoyed was District 9. Can't believe that was nearly 4 years ago!

I'm hoping Wally Pfister's Debut Film Transcendence (2014) is gonna be good, for those who don't know he is Chrisopher Nolans long-term cinematographer.

Well, Jonathan Nolan did Person Of Interest (not HBO and not really SF). I watched a few episodes but found it kinda boring. I'm not so much of a fan of theirs as other people though, so your mileage may vary, although I like The Prestige and Batman Begins.

District 9 was great and benefited from being relatively low budget and having an original/different setting. Oh, does Dredd count as science-fiction? I think it was also made in South Africa, and for a low budget, and very enjoyable. I haven't read the comics but the fact that Judge Dredd gave us Robocop is reason enough for him to be my favorite comic-book character.

I thought Oblivion looked promising, but while it looked nice and had some good aspects it was too monotonous, and lost its way I think when other characters, the "scavs" or whatever, showed up.

Prometheus had the potential to be a truly great movie, and it's ridiculous just how badly they blew it with such abysmal writing and 'plotting'.

Moon is rated insanely highly by apparently everyone, but I personally found it tedious and unimaginative (sounds like I think that about everything ), and the most absurdly over-rated movie ever, until Drive, a movie that took monotony and tedium to previously unimaginable levels.

Drive is one of my favorite movies. Especially from the last few years. Most mostly from a visual aspect. I also really dig the sound track.

Interesting, I haven't watched Person Of Interest. Yeah I think people have different tastes which is to be respected, what I respect about the Nolan brothers is their consistency when it comes to producing really good movies.

Yeah The Prestige & Batman Begins are great.

Personally I loved Inception & Memento as well, Memento was another low budget production

That film blew me away, last time I was that impressed by Sci-Fi was probably in 99 when The Matrix came out!

FYI Neill Blomkamp's new Sci Fi film is coming out in August Elysium (2013)

Looks pretty good I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with a bigger budget!

                              Comic book genre I guess

I didn't see it Which I regret now because apparently in 3D it looked fantastic!

I've not seen that yet either, your review of it sounds like a 7/10. If films are rated 7/10 or below in IMDB I usually give them a miss, love watching great films & TV Shows but I can't stand watching anything now that's just ok. I don't like watching things that are just average

I won't even start on how bad that film was, totally agree!

I'd honestly put it up there with Terminator 3 for how lazy and retarded the plot was! When I pay good money and see crap like that in the theatre I understand why a lot of people download films for free.

I see James Cameron is Directing/Writing Terminator 5 or as I will strictly refer to it, Terminator 3!

He better not fuck it up

Well I gave it an 8/10 but I understand where you're coming from. I originally gave it a 7/10 but when I considered it's $5 million budget and the fact that it's really more of a drama than Sci-fi I thought it was pretty good, plus Sam Rockwell is one of my favourite and IMO one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood.

I think another reason why people gave it a higher rating is because Duncan Jones is David Bowie's son. It shouldn't have any weight whatsoever but I think sometimes if critics gave films a good review (like they did with Moon) then people already have a positive opinion in their heads before seeing the film themselves.

His second film Source Code (2011) I thought was a better film personally

I cannot put into words how I feel about that film and I trusted IMDB with it's great rating when I watched that 90 minute music video. I think this image describes how I felt after watching Drive!
