This doesn't really appear to be an "Arab Spring" type of thing as Turkey has a functioning democratically elected government. 60% of the people are conservative Muslims 40% more secular and liberal religionists.

it is relevant in regards to what the OP wrote - that turkish media (and in this case CNN Turkey) was still showing penguins while the rest of the world was already reporting the demonstrations
Turkey has locked up more journalists than China and the rest is too afraid of the government to report anything negative.Comment
