CCBill, if this isn't against your TOS, it damned well should be..

Got this e-mail.. I'm not even sure what sites of theirs I promote or if this even affects me, so nothing personal against this program.. But the general idea that a sponsor can do this is ridiculous.

CCBill should be handling this in their back end.. Who knows what reason they had to change their account, but why everyone should have to change a CCBill code for another CCBill is fucking ridiculous. AND it clearly says they still have access to their old CCBill account, as they're able to move rebills over somehow..

    Dear Affiliate,
Recently we had to change our CCBILL account and as a result you must re-apply to our program and change any existing affiliate links.

    Please sign-up Here:

    http://www.amateurmodelsite.com/affiliates
Then, switch any existing affiliate links to:

    http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clic...com/nudemodels

We apologize but this was something we could not avoid. As soon as you sign up and switch your existing affiliate links you will continue to receive 50% lifetime commissions on all sales you send. If you have any current active rebills with us we will assign them to you so that you continue to get paid on those referrals.

    Thanks,

    johnnie

are ccbill employees permitted to run their own websites in their spare time or is it a conflict of interest that is clearly prohibited in their ccbill employee policy handbook?

It looks like a change of ownership, partners splitting, or something to that effect going on here.

        Agreed.
I actually am merging new sites into my affiliate program from an ownership merger, and the newly acquired sites will be merged into my program, and a similar thing will need to be done with their few affiliates.
        It's not "that" unusual, really.

If it's truly unavoidable, then we should be hearing about this from CCBill themselves. With all the fuckery that goes on in this business, it could be just another way of skimming off some extra money from affiliates. How many won't read the e-mail and get screwed out of their rebills and future sales? And all they have to do is signup for a second account and send out an e-mail?

I've seen this happen more than once, including from a reasonably big program or two (Met-Art maybe a few years ago if I recall, don't quote me on that tho). It's not really a big deal.

The only issue I see is that programs spam my inboxes with their promo content and whatever other offers so bad, it becomes a chore to sift thru all that stuff to find legit important emails like that.

It can be a big deal for some of us...if I had to change all the links to one program it would be a major hassle (even with using link replacement scripts).

Of course that's part of what being a webmaster is and what the job entails...but it's still a pain in the ass!

I think maybe the bigger problem here for affiliates (I don't know if any reps or other sponsors give a shit) is the idea that a sponsor can assign rebills to another affiliate account. I remember this being brought up before. I'm guessing there is no notification given to the affiliate specifically mentioning that the rebills were manually reassigned by the sponsor. Perhaps it might show as red and canceled in the affiliate stats display for the affiliate but there is a good chance that's it and the affiliate just sees it as a normal canceled rebill. This is what I'm assuming anyway. Given the way it usually works it's best to assume there is a hole unless reliable people confirm it works otherwise. Feel free to provide more information if you know otherwise.

Yeah it also sucks that it is being manually done. Maybe there isn't any choice maybe there is, but whatever the case almost for sure the sponsor is going to get to pocket some extra cash because people won't switch the links.

You don't like my posts? Put me on ignore or fuck right off. I'll say what I want.

If you buy or sell just sub accounts (versus an entire main account) with ccbill the affiliates don't transfer. It's the most annoying shit ever, but that's how it's setup. So most likely this happened and they want you to sign back up again and swap your links

Profits can buy many sets of tits forever and ever... Tits can only earn a very limited amount of profits for only so long.

...and profits are accepted worldwide as form of payment. Tits are only nice to look at, fuck and squeeze. Can't buy much with them.

At least this sponsor is honest about this change and inform it's affiliates of this change. Big Thumbs UP for this action. There are a lot of other programs doing that while 'forgetting' old affiliates. In some cases it's even done on purpose.

Nice move. Owner gets all the free referrals because it takes months maybe years for webmasters to change their links. Kudos to the webmaster. Now that's how you make money online... the old fashioned way. That's a "facial skim", one that is done right in your face and you can't do anything about it.

Unlike web cams... where you can't see the skim.
