I am 97% sure that most of the guys on GFY could take Bruce Lee in a street fight.

And he probably would have been really good at it.

One thing is for sure, he became a famous "actor" because of his physical skills which were pretty remarkable. He was definitely a world class athlete and with his speed could have been one hell of a shoot wrestle guy too.

A little known fact about Chuck Norris is he trained with the Gracie's in BJJ, and also with the Machado's for almost 30 years. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/12/4...cie-jiu-jitsu- I have no doubt that had Bruce Lee lived he would have definitely evolved his training to incorporate BJJ...

Lee's crushing defeat of martial arts master Wong Jack Man proves that he was a legit fighter and not just an entertainer.

Lee got his start fighting on the streets of Hong Kong. There's little doubt that he was a real fighter and a great one at that. Best that ever lived? Not by a long shot but he was still a force to be reckoned with and did a great deal for the world of martial arts.

It is pretty much widely known that any UFC / MMA fighter would get beaten by Zui Quan style, they even had to ban that style through their regs and rules, as they now ban fighters from being intoxicated before a fight.

But to Bruce Lee fans, to even point out the lack of any prominent accomplishments in actual fighting competitions is tantamount to heresy.

Bruce Lee definitely had screen presence and charisma. But he was a skilled entertainer.

You could say Bruce Lee is the father of MMA. Seriously, he was the one to change Karate and other fighting sports in America in the 70ies. Ask Chuck Norris about his training with Bruce. He will tell you, he got his ass kicked!

Another banned move by MMA , see they are scared.

I'm pretty sure that with the fighting style Bruce Lee was using in movies (striking) he would be destroyed by a modern day MMA fighter in the ring. (strikers rarely win)

But, as I said before...Bruce Lee died very young. If he had lived a few more years and incorporated a grappling style and Brazil Jiu Jitsu into his repertoire he could have kicked some serious ass in today's MMA.

As someone else already said...trying to say that Bruce Lee isn't a great fighter because of the style he used is like saying that Einstein was stupid because he didn't know HTML.

People work within their timeframe of history.

Put them all on the same timeframe and yes...I'd bet that with Bruce Lee's speed, physical ability and obvious drive to be the best that he would have mastered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and made his mark in the UFC if he were 25 years old in 2013.

The man had schools before making movies when he was no one. His own style takes from all forms of fighting, fencing boxing, wrestling. In alot of ways he was doing this before they gave it a name. Also fighting for entertainment is different than fighting for real life. It has to be big for the camera. I dont think no one person is the best , like the best guitar player its very subjective.
