Obama's deputy campaign manager, "I attended the meetings with IRS chief"

What's a campaign manager doing in the Presidents meetings such as this? Other than campaign strategy? She's a campaign manager not a policy advisor..

Ah so it's ok for you that a campaign manager is sitting in on White House meetings let alone meetings with top officials. So I guess it would also be ok if she say, watched as Ambassador Steven got slaughtered? Or maybe got to peek through the door as Osama was being tossed into the ocean?

I think it's pretty obvious that Obama was mixing government business with campaigning. You feel free to downplay it all you want but that's exactly what's being admitted here.

If it makes you feel any better. I was just as much of a Bush hater as I am an Obama hater. See profile for Bush era pic.

As a matter of fact, yes. If someone in the Obama administration decided to send down one of their staff to talk to the IRS I would be fine with it.

Don't. Fucking. Care.

You continue to try to poke holes that aren't there.

I read an article this morning about how Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is trying to place blame for the IRS stuff directly on the White House. Low level IRS employees are being asked where the orders are coming from, and they saying "Washington" - Sounds horrible but it's because all orders originally come from their main office in Washington.

Here's an example from the article:

Quote:
The employee maintained that the office was following directions from Washington. Asked again if the directions to single out tea party applications specifically came from Washington, the employee gave a less certain answer, saying, "I believe so."
A low level employee has no idea where the orders came from because they never know where their marching orders came from.

And this is the new kind of politics we are seeing now. Find something, anything, and continue to blow it out of proportion until heads roll, people loose their jobs, and or the President gets impeached over something idiotic... Like lieing about getting a blow in office. Democrats do it to Republicans, Republicans do it to Democrats, and in the mean time nothing gets done and a bipartisan government is fucking pipedream. When these people are elected to office, it's not about being Democrats or Republicans or beating the other side; It's about serving the American public. Period.

And his hasn't been happening for the past ten - fifteen years.

She isn't a staff member as in she doesn't work for the government. She is a campaign manager. She wasn't sent down to talk to the IRS. She was sitting in on meetings Obama was having with the IRS Chief.

Big difference.

While this isn't a good thing, it is not the first time any of this kind of stuff has happened.
Look at Karl Rove. He ran Bush's campaigns and still played a major role at the white house. I'm sure other past presidents have had similar people in similar roles. I'm not forgiving Obama for this, just saying that it likely happens all the time.

I don't see what the big deal is personally.

I know if was in charge of collection everyone's taxes I would want to make sure that those individuals and groups who had a mindset of 'less tax payment' were looked at a little closer.

I'm actually really surprised they didn't go after Mittens Romney...

Nixon comes to mind, when you mention other presidents that let his election team get to involved with day to day operations. And that didn't end well.

I would venture to guess that pretty much every president has higher ups from his election team involved in the day to day operations of the White House. Many of them are just given jobs so they have official positions. An example would be Reagan. William Casey was his campaign manager in 1980. After Reagan won Casey oversaw the transition into the White House then Reagan made him the Director of the CIA. George H.W. Bush's campaign manager became the head of the RNC after the election. These might not be jobs where they are in the oval office every day, but they do have a pretty big influence with the white house.

Karl Rove is probably the most prominent that comes to my mind. He ran G.W. Bush's campaign and was then named as Bush's Senior Advisor. After Rove helped Bush win a second term in 2004 Rove was made Deputy Chief of Staff. Both of those are very hands on day to day operations kinds of positions.

The only problem with this bullshit is the only one that got their tax status revoked was a progressive group. A no backbone president who when the right throw out the bullshit and he bends over. Same with the bullshit tape of the Shirley Sherrod. But he has no heart to call them on their bullshit.

And? Dennis fucking Rodman went to North Korea?

Seems to me she works for the President Of The United States. If the President Of The United States decides to send one of his staff members to look into something, so be it.
