    What happens next in London?

    People are just going to see a guy (soldier) beheaded on a busy London street in the name of Allah...

    Things have been tense here since the riots - I hope that this doesn't turn into something else.....

    I just saw some stuff on Twitter and I feel a bit sick...

                  If you are going to live in one of the most dynamic cities in the world then don't expect things to not happen there. The city - like many cities of its status - has had its fair share of tragedy. I am sure you lived there during IRA phases too. So, it is a case of what sort of place you want to live in. An exciting and wonderful city where a ton of stuff happens which means some of it will be bad or back to a place like Hull where floods are probably the worst you have to worry about but you live in Hull.

                              No..every type of person is in London and that means bad and/or crazy people too. It is the same in New York, Paris and other world cities. Sad to say but horrible stuff happens. Do you remember the machete attack on the nursery school in either the late 90's or early 2000's (I'm old, I'm getting foggy)? What about the woman and her kid that were killed in a bakery in Lewisham just down the road. I know you remember the nail bomber. Stuff happens and especially in cities. Honestly, if a city like London isn't for you then it isn't for you and you need to find where you are comfortable but don't make it another city of comparable size or status because the same feelings will return.

                                          problem is, people are hurting bad over the current economic state, and *need* someone to blame. All you gotta do if you're from the UK is see all the facebook virals in the last few months about how muslims are taking UK people's money from them (hint for skelter idiot, not my view, just a statement of the current virals).

                                          The gov't get away with it to a large degree, as any ire is directed at immigrants, muslims, who the fuck ever, for 'taking' jobs, benefits, what the fuck ever. The right wing jump on that and stir the shit up, the less well informed get to vent on fb and release a bit of tension, and the gov't who are to blame for the financial mess get off scot free to do what they've always done, which is whatever they can get away with while at the same time staying in power.

                                          Today will be seen by many as a step too far (remember, these people already blame muslims and whoever else they can to vent), and before you know it, it's gonna get real messy. Lots of innocent people are gonna get hurt

                                                  Beyond the obvious horror of the story, I worry more that it took twenty minutes for an armed unit to get there in a location that is not only right at a giant military barracks (like it takes up half the town) and close to Belmarsh, which is one of the highest security prisons in the UK and where IRA and other terror related prisoners are usually kept.
