I am dead set against illegals being able to get a full time DL in the US.

With that said, years ago when I was in college here in California I witnessed a hit and run accident. I was at a stop light, saw a car hit another car and then quickly leave. I gave chase (breaking dozens of laws in the process) and eventually we were able to stop them. It turns out everyone in the car was in the US illegally. They didn't stop because they didn't have insurance and would have been deported.

I would have to agree with laws like this. I myself, have married offshore and paid a HUGE fee to bring my wife here legally. It makes me feel like a idiot spending 00,000k when all these people do is walk across the desert. Send all of them back on the next boat or plane available.

In Maryland they can get full drivers licenses, discounted tuition, assistance for food and child care, etc. Almost anything they want. Absolutely ridiculous.

Meanwhile to compensate for their discounted tuition, rates just went up 3-6% this year. Gotta love it.

It's a nightmare going both ways.

Mexicans have come across that border freely since the beginning of our country. It's only the last decade that all of this "border security" suddenly became a "problem".

The only "problem" I see is that U.S. drug laws have created a lot of violence. It used to be centered in Colombia so we didn't notice it as much.

But then we sent our military down to Colombia to help bust up the drug cartels there.

So now the Mexicans have taken that business over.

We reap what we sew with our constant interference in other countries and our govt's insistence on trying to tell people what they can and can't do in their personal lives.

Normally I agree with most of what you say, but this topic you are wrong.

Illegal people can attend public school, use public hospitals, college etc. Why should I have to pay for medical if they don't.

They also don't get ticketed if they are caught speeding.

And the big kicker, they get fake social security cards, and then get a refund.

I do know this for a fact...I grew up in Florida. My family was one of the biggest citrus harvesters in the world during the 1970's and 1980's.
If it weren't for "illegal" Mexicans working those groves...your orange juice would be so expensive you couldn't drink it.

Then I moved to Miami and saw the same thing with the bean crop down in Homestead.

Yeah...shut off the border. And then watch our food prices rise astronomically.
The poor people in this country who can barely afford to eat now will suffer even more.

Mexican immigrants have freely walked across that border and done the hard labor that most folks do NOT want to do since the very beginning of the United States (and of course they freely walked across BEFORE the U.S. existed as well)

This is the U.S. govt. using nationalistic pride and subtle racism to further THEIR agenda. (failed war on drugs and a further erosion of our freedom).

We are already isolated. We are a country that REFUSES to be multi-lingual. Go to any other country...the citizens speak several languages and have since birth.
When I travel to Europe, the Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, South America....I feel like the stupidest person there.

Everyone else is speaking English, German, Dutch, French, etc.
It's embarrassing that I can't.

So let's further isolate ourselves. Let's drive food prices up!
