by "problems" do you mean that they are illegal? Because in most states online gambling is prohibited. This will change for many states this year...big market and lots of money to be made ;) -
It will explode once when and if sports and other forms of gambling are made legal and mainstream. But those who really want to gamble online while living in the States are already doing so without issues.Comment

I know one of the lottery companies was working on a lotto app.
I don't know if small affiliates will make money off the legalization of online gambling in the US, Seems pretty controlled.
I know there are some bitcoin gambling site going.
What I find interesting is sites like game show network. You buy tokens to compete for prizes. Seems like a smart way to do things. Yes, phone apps see you are in USA phone and don't allow you to pay with real money.
