Headed to NOLA for a few days. I've been a few times buts its been a few years since I recall where to stay. Looking to stay in French quarter or 5-10 min walk for bourbon. Any suggestions?

Think there are only two hotels right on Bourbon... Royal Sonesta and the Inn on Bourbon. Stayed at both... liked them both. But, everything is within walking distance if you are a few blocks away.

GF and I just got back. Stay as close to Bourbon as you can. Avoid having to walk too far out of the heavy traffic areas. We were told stories and "warned" but we didn't notice even the remote possibility of trouble in town. We strolled up and down every street downtown at night and pretty much shut down (as much as it could be shut down) Bourbon every night we were there. Grant it if you get a few blocks north of Bourbon things start to get shady but if you haven't led a very sheltered life you won't think much about it. If you're into the club scene check out the upstairs part of Beach on Bourbon as it's the most happening club we found and we hit them all. If you are gay friendly Oz is cool as well.
