Actually, in the other thread everyone who isn't a designer seems to agree with me. They both have different images/graphics, just the same layout. It might be a copy if there weren't another 1000 sites out there that look the exact same.

maybe because designers being visual professionals are better able to see the similarity maybe???? like how traffic traders are more likely to notice bot traffic than other people???

yep they're both cookie-cutter sites, but they're both lightly roasted french almond and double choc chip with a twist of jaffa cookies.

well i'm a designer and comparing them both, it does seem that they did try to mimic the style, a bit too much. the links on the bottom and the right are obviously too "equal" for it to have been a coincidence, plus with the borders basically being the same.

the way a designer gets better is by usually copying styles, so he can find his "place" and work on creating his own unique style in some form... but thats just a bit overboard for what they did. oh well.

sure. lets see.

1. they both have the same border, except the original one has cum droppings on it, i assume the other person who was copying it couldn't make them.

2. the links at the bottom, members, join now, and free tour.. the buttons are practically identical in shape, same setup.

3. the list to the right, are both basically the same, and in the same exact location, both have gradients and both have 3d text.

4. both have thumbnails aligned at the bottom, even though they are different in appearence, they fall in the same exact location.

5. the main focused content picture is showcased to the left

6. and notice the background inside the design, the original has different layer blending modes to create a vibrant color much like that of a rainbow, the mock design has the same thing.

sure, theres different pictures, and there are a few "different" things such as the way the thumbnails look, but its clearly a design mock since everything is in the same exact location.

yup, and it's not that any one of these common things exist in both designs it's that thay ALL do. "lil2rich" should put down the crack pipe. It's kinda obvious to anyone with eyes.

Normally I laugh at threads like this - previously out of maybe 6 or 7 people complaining of a copying site i've only seen one that actually did look similar.. this makes two.

I doubt it... every designer will tell you they have taken "inspiration" and sometimes liberal amounts of it..
there are widgets like clipped corner boxes and tv lines that make the designer rounds like wildfire.
the difference is taking an element or two.. or maybe the "feel" of something.. and flat out using a site as a style and colour guide.
