Paypal is considering accepting Bitcoins to fund your account

David Marcus, president of EBay Inc.'s PayPal:

And I think here, for us at Paypal, it's just a question of whether Bitcoin will make its way to PayPal's funding instrument or not, and we're kind of thinking about it right now.

That's funny considering 1-2 years ago they used to freeze and suspend your account if they suspected you of buying/selling bitcoin with your paypal account. Enter Dwolla which probably only had a successful launch because of bitcoin.

I just made even more money now that the latest Bitcoin price hit above $160.

The haters here are missing out on easy money and having fun supporting the bitcoin movement.

I finally got my Avalon ASIC, but it's cranking out less than 3 per day .. not what I was expecting at around 91 Gh/s. Any knowledge on how to crank this up, Franck?

95598900 khash/s last update only = < 3 bitcoins? Help!

Since rev 1, I've been promised one. This is a rev 3 box. I have a Butterfly on order, but I don't expect they'll ever ship anyone of value .. once they release, the opportunity cost will be 100x what I paid.

At 3 coins/day, it'll take over 20 days to pay back the price of this ASIC. Ridiculous. When I ordered it, the pitch was 20 coins/day .. which justified sending them coins on spec. I paid $20 for the coins at the time, but still .. it's the principle.

Are you mining in a pool or solo? Does your hashrate actually show 91000Mhash/s ? According to calculations you should be doing 5BTC/24hours at current difficulty. The calculations have always been near accurate for me. If you're mining in a pool maybe there is a shitload of stales or connectivity issues with the pool.

Also if you're mining in a small unlucky pool you would get a considerably less payout as they are crap at finding blocks.

I wouldn't be opposed to a partnership agreement if you can up the production.

I am getting a lot of connectivity errors and junks/stales, which seems to be a function of the server I am connected to. I am in a pool, currently doing 20% of the work for 12% (functional work) of the pay. I switched it to an EU server and the errors stopped. I'm going to have to run it for a bit and see how it plays. If things don't improve, I'll switch pools/servers.

Connectivity and stales will definitely drop your earnings considerably. When the pool I was mining with was having connectivity issues I was getting ~50% less payouts. I've found it's usually best to pick a large pool but not the largest. Something that does like 30-40% of the total hashrate. But you should see improvements if you got the errors to stop.

Definitely can't mine where the GPU mining was running. Totally different game now.

Paypal is a nightmare. The worst experience I have ever had with an online payment system. Their employees are acting like clueless retards. Not sure if they are Filipinos, but I believe they do not read the fucking emails and just copy + past their replies until you get angry , then they finally call in someone intelligent from their team to resolve your issue.

They keep blocking my account for bullshit reasons and do not fucking understand that I can't do any verification when I am blocked.

Not to mention their crazy fees for EU countries ..receive $600 and pay around $30 in fees.

I'm not a huge fan of them either... I once ordered a dedicated server from a company which ripped me off. When I opened a case with PayPal they simply said that that company has had many similar complaints and there was nothing they could do about a refund for services not rendered. They would add my complaint to the list and closed the case. I had to go through my bank to do a chargeback which paypal usually bans you for.

You can't judge your future earnings from whatever the difficulty is today. When I get my BFL 60 ghs in June or July or August or September I'll probably be making a half a Bitcoin a day. Consider youself lucky. :p

I agree. But that they are even considering adding Bitcoin is huge. I think todays price rise is because of this.
