when i first visited Oahu at the age of twelve, my family stayed at the Pagoda Hotel (after that, we stayed at my grandma's place)

a really nice hotel with a kick ass restaurant

not a bad website either

stayed in so many different places on all the islands that i can't really think of other names right now

go to Maui, once your plane lands amidst the teeming resorts, immediately rent a jeep/truck and head *east*... when you reach hana, stop. now your there... prettiest, quietest area left on Maui island, very nice place to hang out a few weeks..!

It's best to stay with family.

If that's not an option, the port of Maui has a nice building called "Harbor Lights". That place always reminds me of South Central.

I just got back from Princeville. It was amazing!!! The island of Kauai is a must!! Just rent a car at the airport & drive! If you decide to stay at Princeville go check out the little town of Hanalei...its where Puff the Magic Dragon is from ;) A few other must sees are Kilauea Lighthouse, Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast (by heli) and the Queens Bath.

On Oahu, I didnt like Wakiki at all, way too touristy. Try the Kahala Mandrin Oriental, its out of this world!

You can rent a car right there at the hotel. Take a ride on the Kam highway & back down 99 to Pearl Harbor!!

For a really active vacation (fnet style) just take a backpack. Make no arrangements other than flight. Research where you want to go with the best travel guides.

I went there two years ago.... Stayed at Hilton hotel at Waikiki beach.

Go with the hotels if you want to save money, and they're not that bad.

Waiks sucks. Oahu is crowded- 1m people. Kauai and the Big Island.
