I like it.:thumbsup but.... I really think the blue crank handle should be KickStarter Green:) People see green and think they are helping saving the world.:2 cents:

nice, congrats! 5 times the pledge!
I love kickstarter, even if some products are out there I support it if I like it more than the existing products out there. Fuck the haters. |

$115,823
pledged of $27,000 goal WELL PLAYED SIR!!! Grats!!!! |
Those guys should end up filthy rich. You need to sell that product with fear. Every disaster and power outage kit should have one of those in it. Talk to the companies that assemble those earthquake bags and emergency, natural disaster type bags. The places to sell that device are just unlimited. Nice job.

that is awesome. Do you sell a hamster wheel attachment?
you should make a video with one that shit will go so viral and you will reach your goal |

Reach 1m then. |

As it is, only 1% of projects on Kickstarter reach over $100K |
Do you have any realistic estimates of how many pledges actually convert into becoming financial sponsor. I imagine some just "forget" about their pledge.

fleshlight should come out with a version that creates a charge from the up and down motion so you can charge your phone as you whack off.
fap...fap...."What are you doing?" "I'm charging my phone!"...fap...fap...fap |
New Kickstarter rule states that you can't use Kickstarter as a store.
Which is essentially what is being done here. Surprised they haven't shut you down. |

After looking at your product and then looking at the other products others have mentioned I have this to say:
Super cheap products with just the hand crank lack the ability to provide a battery backup. The Amazon product costs more and will not charge an iPhone 5, which this product will. Also that Amazon product had just as many bad reviews as good ones. Most center around it breaking after several uses. At $59.99 you'd think it wouldn't break for years, if not a decade. When people LOL at you reaching 500% of your goal I LOL at them. They seem to think the remaining $70K~ will just go to a bonus check for somebody and fail to realize that each person that donated will be receiving the product. Congrats on a successful funding! My question: If I fully charge the battery and then put it on a shelf. How long will it take before the battery loses half of its charge? |

Again, my bad, I was wrong. :upsidedow |

There are definitely lots of costs involved in getting 3000 of these chargers and shipping them to the backers for FREE. On top of costs for molds UL certifications, customs etc. The depletion rate is the same as any standard lithium polymer based battery. I believe it is 5% loss over 24 hours and then about 3-4% per month so 10 months for 50% roughly - these are under optimal conditions, power turned off, and warm weather. I hope that helps but there are so many factors for depletion of charge on the battery. |
That helps, thanks!

This is a great idea really. I think cars should come with one in the glove compartment - you know, you never have it with you when you need it the most.
